With all of the strange evolutions present in Pokémon Legends: Arceus, it’s no wonder why some fans are curious about the process for every single Pokémon in Hisui. Some Pokémon, such as Qwilfish, require special steps in order to get it to evolve. Other Pokémon, such as Ponyta, require a simple, tried and true evolution process.
However, just because it’s simple, doesn’t mean fans don’t need to know how exactly to transform their Ponyta into Rapidash in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Below, you can see precisely what to do in order to get your Ponyta to evolve in Hisui.
Evolving Ponyta into Rapidash in Pokémon Legends: Arceus
The great thing about this specific evolution is that it takes almost no extra steps. It’s about as straightforward as it gets in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. The bad part is that it will take more time than most other standard evolutions that take place in Hisui.
In order to get Ponyta to evolve into Rapidash, you must reach level 40. This is quite the gauntlet, as Ponyta can be caught fairly early on in the game at a lower level. If you catch one at a lower level, you’ll have to spend a solid amount of time having it in your party to train it up to the level threshold to get it to evolve.

To find Ponyta as early as possible, you can look in the Horshoe Plains of Obsidian Fieldlands. This is the first location of the game so it shouldn't be too hard to make your way back to. The problem with this specific location is that an Alpha Rapidash likes to roam around where Ponyta can spawn.
This Alpha Pokémon is at level 40, meaning it just evolved, and can take out any early-game Pokémon you might have in your party. Be sure to come prepared if you’re forced to take on this Alpha.
Once you’ve caught yourself a Ponyta, you can choose how to train it. However, the process remains the same no matter if you throw it out into battle or switch train it; you must reach level 40 and then you will have yourself a fully grown Rapidash available to use in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
