The TM Machine is a brand-new feature coming to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This will be every Paldea adventurer's way of acquiring new moves for their Pokémon and making them as strong as possible. TMs have gone through various changes over the years, from having limited uses to being completely unlimited and then going back to having limited use again (come on, Nintendo...).
So, is the TM Machine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet a step in the right direction? Let's find out as we cover what the TM Machine is and how it works.
Update on 18 November 2022:We've added the latest information about the 'TM Machine' in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
What Is The TM Machine In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
The TM Machine in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is going to be the new go-to method of acquiring TMs. Unlike other Pokémon games that require you to search various locations around the world map to acquire TMs, you can now pick them up at any time you choose.
Pokémon Sword and Shield dabbled in this idea with regard to its Watts system. This allowed players to accumulate currency in the Wild Area and spend their Watts on various breakable TMs. However, only a few TMs were available for purchase via this method.
How To Use The TM Machine In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Firstly, you'll want to head to any Pokémon Center across the map. The TM Machine is made readily available for every player's convenience. From there, you will want to activate it and pay however much currency is required for your desired TM.
However, unlike other games that require some kind of flat currency in exchange for a TM, the TM Machine in Scarlet and Violet also requires loot scavenged from Pokémon. This can include feathers, fur, claws, and more.
