Developer Game Freak announced a new seasonal event series coming this summer to its open-world RPG release, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, that will have Trainers battling against the "Mightiest" Pokémon. Additionally, there is a celebration event to take place across the region ahead of the 2024 Pokémon World Championships for them to enjoy.
The details of this new seasonal event series were outlined in the latest blog post on 8th July 2024, for which Trainers will be encountering numerous Pokémon that don't typically appear "during regular gameplay." As for what they can anticipate, they'll be engaging in multiple Tera Raid battles and Mass Outbreak events, for which the first seasonal event begins later this July.
According to the aforementioned blog post, four seasonal events will kick off the summer season in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, with the first running from 11th July to 25th July 2024. The first event will be a 7-star Tera Raid battle featuring Pikachu with the Mightiest Mark, for which this iconic Pokémon will appear as a Water Tera Type.
Alongside this event, several familiar Pokémon will appear in Mass Outbreak events during this period, such as Pichu in Paldea, Pikachu in Kitakami, Raichu, and Alolan Raichu at the Blueberry Academy. Dondozo with the Mightiest Mark will be featured next in 7-star Tera Raid battles, also as a Water Tera Type, occurring between 25th July and 8th August 2024.
Likewise, Mass Outbreak events for Curly Form Tatsugiri in Paldea, Droopy Form Tatsugiri in Kitakami, and Stretchy Form Tatsugiri at the Blueberry Academy are set to take place alongside this 7-star Tera Raid battle. Celebrate the 2024 Pokémon World Championships in the next Tera Raid battle as Chest Form Gimmighoul, as multiple Tera Types are the featured Pokémon in 1 to 5-star battles.
As for Mass Outbreak events, Wattrel can be encountered in Paldea, Riolu at Kitakami, and Comfey at the Blueberry Academy between 8th August and 222nd August 2024, with Shiny Pokémon increasing their chances of appearing with the chances of having the Pumped-Up Mark. Finally, Dragonite will return to Tera Raid battles, specifically in 7-star battles appearing as a Normal Tera Type from 22nd August to 1st September 2024.
Pokémon to be encountered in Mass Outbreaks include Larvitar and Bagon in Paldea, Goomy and Hisuian Sliggoo in Kitakami, and Beldum at the Blueberry Academy, with Shiny Pokémon likely to be spawning during these battles with the Charismatic Mark. Trainers are to ensure that the game is updated to reflect the latest data, and the same can be said for the Poké Portal News feature, which does not require an active Nintendo Switch Online membership to search for the latest data from the Poké Portal News feature.
