Sinistea is a highly sought-after Pokémon for collectors in Scarlet and Violet. By itself, this cute little cup is no more than an average Ghost-type Pokémon. However, what makes Sinistea special is its multiple forms. Commonly found Sinistea will likely be the Phony variant. These Sinistea are a dime a dozen and don't really hold much weight when it comes to bragging rights. However, for every Sinistea you encounter, there is an approximate 1/100 chance that it will be the Antique / Authentic form.
These special Sinistea are distinguished by a marking on the underside of the cup. Hunting for an authentic Sinistea is a pastime for many Pokémon trainers who enjoy tracking down this rare form and a shiny version of it. It is important to know the distinction between these two forms as, depending on the type of Sinistea you have, the evolution method will differ. This article will cover everything you need to know about how to evolve Sinistea into Polteageist in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
How To Evolve Sinistea Into Polteageist In Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
To evolve Sinistea into Polteageist you need to give it either a Cracked Pot or Chipped Pot. As mentioned, depending on the type of Sinistea you have, the item needed to evolve it will differ. If you have the phony form, you will need the Cracked Pot in order to evolve your Sinistea. Cracked Pots can be found around Cassoroya Lake near the Socarrat Trail. Alternatively, you can bid for Cracked Pots at the Porto Marinada auction house. It is recommended to scour the overworld for Cracked Pots as you can save a lot of money by avoiding the auction house.
If you have an authentic Sinistea, then you will need a Chipped Pot. Unfortunately, Chipped Pots can only be acquired via the auction house, and, as anyone who has tried to get more Apriballs will tell you, nothing at the Porto Marinada auction comes cheap.
After acquiring either a Chipped Pot or Cracked Pot, all you need to do is give it to your Sinistea, and it will evolve into Polteageist! There is no level, move, or time of day requirements to meet, so you can evolve your Sinistea as early as you like! Additionally, both forms of Sinistea and Polteageist will be unlocked in the Pokédex, so don't worry about trying to track down an authentic Sinistea to complete your dex.
And that's all you need to know about evolving Sinistea into Polteageist in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
