When Does Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Release?

Trainers worldwide anxiously anticipate the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, launching exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. The official trailer's description touts it as the first open-world adventure game, as developer Game Freak continues to expand on what they had initially set out to in Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

With plenty of new and returning Pokémon awaiting you in Paldea, the developer is introducing innovative mechanics for you to experiment with, but when can you start diving into the game? Here's when you can expect to begin your next adventure in the Paldea region in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Release Date & Time

Nintendo has been tight-lipped regarding its game releases; however, it has a schedule regardless of whether they share it with the general public. According to the official FAQ page regarding game releases on the Nintendo eShop, the times are decided by the publisher and varies from title to title.

As Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a first-party title, with Nintendo being the publisher, the digital version of the game launches the night before the physical release. This means the game will be available via the Nintendo eShop on 17th November 2022 at 9 pm PT and on 18th November 2022 at 12 am ET and  6 am CEST.

Depending on the status of their servers on launch day, players are advised to remain patient as it may take them a bit longer to purchase and play the game digitally. Therefore, we suggest waiting around 30 minutes before starting their first adventure in the Paldea region.

Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Pre-load & Download Size

While there is no pre-order bonus for allowing you to play the game early, it will allow you to pre-load the game once the feature is available. This will be beneficial if you’re anxiously awaiting to jump into the game immediately after its release, begin exploring the new region and start catching some Pokémon.

Speaking of pre-loading, the game’s file size differs depending on which version of the game you’ll be playing. For example, if you have purchased either Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, you’ll be looking to free up 7GB of storage space, while the Double Pack includes both games at 14GB of storage space.

Lastly, if you purchased the physical or digital version of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Double Pack, another bonus you’ll earn is 200 Poké Balls to start your Trainer journey on the right path. These will be received via downloadable codes, which can be redeemed using the Mystery Gift feature in the Poké Portal menu once unlocked in-game.
