Sony's new PlayStation 5 Pro is set to release on 7 November, boasting a $699 price tag, Sony confirmed during a PS5 Technical Presentation today.
The new Pro model features a GPU with 67% more Compute Units than its predecessor, coupled with a 28% faster memory. Sony says this translates to 45% faster rendering in games, "making the experience much smoother." The PS5 Pro also offers advanced ray tracing with up to triple ray cast speeds, and AI-driven upscaling through the new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution.
The new PlayStation 5 Pro comes with a 2TB SSD and one DualSense wireless controller, but players will need to pick up a £24.99 vertical stand and £99.99 disc drive separately if they desire adding on those accessories.
Around 40 or 50 games will also get PS5 Pro upgrade patches when the console releases later this year, including Alan Wake 2, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Hogwarts Legacy, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, and many more.
Some games, like The Last of Us Part 2 and Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart, will now be able to run at 60fps rather than just 30fps - along with numerous other enhancements and upgrades.
