DEVELOPMENT
We are collaborating with Unity to work on the console release, as well as general performance optimisations for both console and PC, this will ensure that the console update runs optimally and to the high standards that we set for the game. Working with them means that we can work alongside them on new content for all platforms, allowing faster development of new updates.
Future updates for the game will be released on all platforms simultaneously to ensure that cross-play is always available.
WHEN?
We're thrilled to announce that the console update will be released this year, during our in-game Halloween Event. Once launched, all players will have access to cross-play, allowing you to play the newest version of the game with everyone, including those using VR on any platform.
PHASMOPHOBIA CONSOLE RELEASE FAQ
Below are some answers to the most frequently asked questions we've noted from our community about the console update.
- At the current stage of development console players will be required to use our Text input for Voice Recognition, we are working on a solution for this. We will announce if this changes.
- We will be increasing the price of Phasmophobia on all platforms later this year to $19.99, due to the amount of content and playtime added since the start of early access we feel this is a fair increase.
- Phasmophobia will be rated as "16+/teen", however, this will vary in some regions.
- Currently we have no plans to be on Xbox Game Pass.
- All platforms will be on the current major version, 0.10 at the console release. New content such as the farmhouse reworks will release afterwards.

Phasmophobia 2024 Roadmap Overview
The first thing to note is that all known updates for Phasmophobia have no set release dates. For now, we know that the developers plan to release version 0.9, 0.10, 0.11, and a full 1.0 release at some stage in 2024. However, there's no timeframe on when these 'core' updates will launch. Likewise, we're bound to have a bunch of hotfixes and minor updates from time to time.
In addition, there's a variety of additional updates (such as the console launch and map reworks) that have not been given any specific update associated with them. Presumably, because these features are more fluid and could be pushed from one update to the next should it be required by the development team. These updates are described as "releasing separately as soon as they're ready".

Updates Releasing 'Sometime' This Year
The following features are also work-in-progress, but have no specific release date; instead, they'll be released when they're ready:
- Console - Phasmophobia's console release was delayed last year for various reasons, but the console release is on the way. Console players will also get extra features that Kinetic Games say will give them "the best experience as soon as they receive the game," such as:
-
- New & improved shop experience
- Upcoming adjustments to leveling & equipment
- Minor balance changes
- Optimizations to bring the graphical quality "as close to PC as possible"
-
- OUT NOW - Point Hope Lighthouse - The lighthouse is Phasmophobia's newest map, featuring a "new visual them" and a "widely different gameplay experience." It will be a circular lighthouse, with rooms taking up a whole floor; this leaves developers with more room to create spots to loop and hide.
- Bleasdale & Grafton Farmhouse Map Reworks - These maps will both get a "sized layout adjustment," with updates to make them feel more alive and unique from one another.
- Other new maps
- Bug fixes
- Performance improvements
