The Tuning Fork is one of many valuable tools that players can find and use when out fishing at local spots in Palia. Like the Ore Compass used for mining, the Tuning Fork is the fishing equivalent and can be obtained when chatting with Einar in-game.
This piece of equipment isn’t hard to get, but players have to meet the specific requirements if they wish to craft or use it for tracking fish. If this tool has got them hooked, then continue reading this guide as we’ve detailed how to get and use the Tuning Fork in Palia.
How To Get The Tuning Fork In Palia?
A Tuning Fork is a type of equipment that players can acquire and utilize for their fishing expeditions in Kilima Village and Bahari Bay. According to its in-game description, the Tuning Fork, when activated, lets players “track fishing nodes for 15 minutes” at every fishing spot, starting from the ones closest to them.
Acquiring the Tuning Fork requires some elbow grease as players are to continue mastering their Fishing skill to reach Level 8 for both the item and blueprint to be available. These items can be purchased from the Fishing Guild Store when visiting Einar at Fisherman’s Lagoon, with the Tuning Fork blueprint costing 2,500 Gold.
For the item itself, players must reach Fishing Level 10 and higher to purchase it for 50 Skill Medals each. Should players opt to craft the Tuning Fork from their Worktable, they are to have the following items, which we’ve listed for one crafted Tuning Fork:
- Any Rare fish x1
- Copper Bar x1
- Glass Bulb x3
Regarding acquiring the Rare fish, they can get any found at fishing spots in Kilima Village and Bahari Bay, which may require using specific bait, like Worms or Glow Worms. Some of the Rare fish needed include Blue Marlin, Energized Piranha, Fairy Carp, Midnight Paddlefish, and Radiant Sunfish, for which we advise catching as many as possible to craft multiple Tuning Forks.
How To Use The Tuning Fork In Palia?
Much like the Ore Compass, which is used to track rare mining nodes, the Tuning Fork functions similarly but for fishing. Once acquired from the Fishing Guild Store or crafted at their Worktable, it will be found within their Inventory, which can be activated by right-clicking on the item.
As it expires after 15 minutes, we suggest traveling to any fishing spot, depending on the time of day, at Kilima Village or Bahari Bay. Ensure they have their fishing rod equipped with the relevant bait required before activating the Tuning Fork, and they can begin fishing for Rare and Epic fish.
This will help players meet the requirements for various Weekly Challenges and earn those precious Skill Medals for their hard work. Additionally, it will aid them in furthering their progress for the Something’s in the Water Accomplishment, which unlocks the Ancient Fish found in the lake biome in Kilima Village.
Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
