Will There Be A Christmas-Themed Event In Palia

The Festive Season usually sees fewer gaming releases but plenty of game updates as seasonal content gets added to keep players entertained during the holidays. This is also applicable for the cozy MMO, Palia, as there will be themed content arriving soon to help get Palians into that jolly mood.

As developer Singularity 6 has found a way to adapt real-world special events and occasions, like Halloween, for the game, could we expect a Christmas-themed event to be added? We’ve followed the snowy prints as we answered whether Palia will receive a limited-time Christmas event this year.

Is There A Christmas-Themed Event For Palia?

As we’re fast approaching the Holiday Season, players hoping for a Christmas-themed event in Palia will have to wish extremely hard this year. As of writing, we can confirm that a Christmas-themed event called the Winterlights Festival was added to Palia in the v0.174 and v0.175 patch updates, respectively.

According to the recent Developer Update post published on 29th November 2023, Singularity 6 has outlined some festive activities making its jolly way to Kilima Village and Bahari Bay. To help get players into that festive mood, a new seasonal store behind Jel’s Tailor Shop will be available for them to purchase Christmas-themed items.

The developer added that the Majiri culture wanted to bridge their world with human customs, which is how the annual celebration, Winterlights, was founded, as players will spot various trees, decorations, and lights dazzling the town day and night. As such, players will get to have their own Christmas tree placed in their homes this holiday and will get to decorate it as decorations can be found throughout the world.

Most noticeably, snow will begin to descend and find its way into every nook and cranny in both locations for a limited time. Because of this, a new co-op activity, Snowball Fights, is being added in the next update; however, this is purely to enjoy the holidays with friends and community members in-game without the competitiveness and no scoring system.

Lastly, Palia is currently slated for a console release on Nintendo Switch this Holiday Season; however, the developer has yet to provide any new information in the Developer Update post. As the next patch update will add the Christmas-themed seasonal content, we’ll continue to update this guide on the latest news and developments of a potential event coming to Palia.

Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
