Developer Singularity 6 has launched its latest patch update, v0.171, which coincided with the game’s availability on the Epic Games Store. This meaty content update includes more bug fixes, new Premium Outfits available to acquire, and the release of European servers.
With localization now available for these servers and more support coming soon, many players want to know how to manually change between North American and European servers. Never fear, Villagers; this guide will detail more about the European servers and how to change them in Palia.
How To Change Servers In Palia
To answer the main question, players can finally change servers in Palia, which is now possible following the v0.171 patch update. This comes as developer Singularity 6 has launched European servers in this update to coincide with the game’s global release on PC via the Epic Games Store.

After launching the game and starting the day’s adventures, players were indicated at the top left of the screen which server they were placed on when pressing the ESC key, which, before the latest update, would be North American servers. However, with European servers now live, players are looking to know how to change between North American and European servers.
According to the FAQ section of the patch notes, however, players can’t manually change servers by toggling the settings in-game. Instead, the developer detailed how players can join or change servers without toggling any settings.
The developer explained that players are to be placed in “an automatic matchmaking system” to decide which server would be best suited whenever they log into the game. Furthermore, this system will try its best “to select the region in which you will experience the least latency,” which in most cases should be a local server.
This doesn’t mean that players can’t play with friends on other servers, as they can join up for parties, farming runs, and more. This is done by sending or receiving an invite to their online friends, who can be reunited with them, which will override the game’s “automatic matchmaking system.”
Ultimately, all their friends’ social information in-game will remain intact, including the ability to chat with them, coordinate parties using the Flare Arrows, or host Celebration Cake parties. This won’t be separated by region or server as an invite will connect players and continue exploring Kilima Village and Bahari Bay together.
Furthermore, the developer commented that they’re working on improving localization across all servers for French, German, Italian, and Spanish, which will be implemented for the European servers soon. These localizations will be added in subsequent patch updates in the coming months and, in due time, add more servers for Palia.
Palia is currently available in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is slated to release on the Nintendo Switch, releasing Holiday Season 2023.
