Discovering new items and hidden secrets often leads to new quests, allowing players to learn more about the world of Palia. Like the Main, Friendship, and Romance Quests, completing them can be rewarding with Renown, items, or valuable information, like the Best Foot Forward quest.
Players will learn about the Galdurs' history through Einar and Hekla after discovering a Mechanical Foot hidden within an Iron node. If they want to understand how the Galdurs were created, this guide explains how to get and complete the Best Foot Forward Found Item quest for Palia.
Palia Best Foot Forward Found Item Quest Objectives List
This Found Item quest can be acquired while players are mining the Iron nodes across Bahari Bay. When looting the Iron nodes to collect Iron Ores, Stones, and potentially Starstones, a Mechanical Foot can be found within a node and begins the Best Foot Forward quest, where they’re tasked with speaking to Villagers who may know about this foot.
If players can identify how the foot is designed, they would know which Villagers to speak to and provide them information on the owner of it. For players who are looking to get this quest in-game, we’ve detailed all the quest objectives with a complete walkthrough to finish this Found Item quest and earn rewards:
- Find out who the Mechanical Foot belongs to by talking to the Villager Galdurs.
How To Complete The Best Foot Forward Found Item Quest In Palia?
While mining the nodes found throughout Bahari Bay, players will loot a Mechanical Foot, which appears to have belonged to a Galdur. After making this discovery, it will start the Best Foot Forward Found Item quest, in which players can head back to the village and the resident Galdurs on who the foot may belong to.
Players can speak to Hekla, who can be found at Mirror Pond Ruins or the library, and Einar, who’s found fishing for most of the day at Fisherman’s Lagoon. When speaking to Einar, he’ll reveal that the foot looks familiar to him as it belonged to a friend of Hekla’s and directs them to talk to her instead.
After spending a moment with Hekla, she revealed that it belonged to someone she knew due to the inscription of the Flow pattern found on this foot. While sparing the players details on how her friend misplaced their foot, she explains how Galdurs came into existence and how their bodies are formed using natural resources, but the runes keep them together.
As it's common for them to lose their limbs after sustaining damage over time, this will render the Galdur non-functional, and for Hekla’s friend, his limbs fell off after he and Hekla had left the family they served. Even though her friend had Flow still left within their body, they never left Hekla alone, and their presence kept her and Einar’s connections to them alive, akin to human siblings.
Once they've handed Hekla the Mechanical Foot and exchanged dialogue, she’ll hold onto this foot to keep her memory of her friend alive. As thanks for returning the foot to her, Hekla will award players with five Renown and Macarons, which players can enjoy and replenish their Focus Bar.
Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
