Palia: Where To Get And Change Beards

After its Open Beta release for PC in August 2023, followed by the game becoming available via the Epic Games Store, the cozy MMO Palia has added new gameplay content and quality-of-life (QoL) improvements. With plenty of unique cosmetic options to explore, one long-standing feature will arrive in the next scheduled patch update: Beards.

The addition of facial hair has been a highly requested customization feature, and the developer has teased one specific style and some key details on equipping them. If you’re looking for a style that will grow on you, we’ve explained how to get and change beards or facial hair options in Palia.

How To Get And Change Beards (Facial Hair) in Palia?

Facial hair will arrive in the forthcoming update for Palia, as it was confirmed by developer Singularity 6 on social media. The facial hair option has been a long-awaited character customization option since it was first detailed in the Game Director's Letter in August 2023.

Beards will be added in the next patch update, v0.172; however, the date for when this update will arrive has yet to be answered. Nevertheless, players can finally equip their character with a beard, including some unique styles and color presets, perhaps to increase their character’s charisma and appearance in-game.

As for how players will be able to equip a dazzling set of facial hair, players can head to their Housing plot and locate their Wardrobe, which should be placed somewhere in their home. Interacting with the Wardrobe allows players access to the Character Customization menu, and a shortcut for the Premium Store is found at the top right of the screen.

We’re uncertain as to where players would be able to change their facial hair options, but we’re assuming it could either have its tab beside or in-between the Hair and Face Mask options. Likewise, it’s possible that players could change beards within the Hair or Face Mask option tab; however, we cannot confirm these details as of writing.

Lastly, on the social media posting, which confirmed that beards will be added in the 0.172 update, the developer also revealed one beard style and some new details on equipping it. They’ve added that beards can be fitted to any character in Palia, regardless of the gender selected, and they won’t be locked behind microtransactions.

Palia is currently available via the Epic Games Store and in Open Beta for PC, as players can install the game launcher detailed in this guide. The game is now available to download for Nintendo Switch as of 14th December 2023.
