The Overwatch League 2020 has selected its regular-season MVP, with Korean DPS Byung-sun "Fleta" Kim from the Shanghai Dragons taking the coveted award this time around.
After 2018 saw New York Excelsior's flex support Bang "Jjonak" Sung-hyeon enjoy the spotlight, and 2019 was all about now-retired and turned Valorant pro Jay "Sinatraa" Won, Fleta has been elevated to a place many believed he rightfully belonged alongside all-time greats.
They don't call it the @ow_fleta deadlift for nothing!

Starting his career pre-OWL, most famously playing for Flash Lux, one of the worst professional Overwatch teams back at Apex (the premier competition at the time), Fleta helped coined the term "Fleta Deadlift," a special rare instance in which a single player manages more than 50% of the kills of a team during a match.
Even after signing with Seoul Dynasty for OWL, a roster filled with superstars in every role that included flex support Jehong "Ryujehong" Ryu or main tank Gong “Miro” Jin-hyuk, the team was unable to come together, wasting Fleta's potential as a result.
It was until he moved to a revamped Shanghai Dragons squad, which moved from an 0-40 debut season to completely dominate the Asian region in the current one, that the 21-year-old was able to showcase his prowess across multiple heroes more consistently, becoming a key element in Shanghai's victories in both the May Melee and Countdown Cup tournaments.

As per usual, each MVP winner gets to choose a hero to receive a special skin, with Sinatraa's Zarya revealed not so long ago. Fleta has immediately stated his desire is to give fans a "special MVP Echo skin," which we're sure will be nothing short of phenomenal.
