It's a say day for Blizzard fans that were hoping to receive good news during the upcoming BlizzConline festivities, as Activision Blizzard has confirmed two major titles won't be coming out until 2022: Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV.
The information comes from an earnings call that industry insiders continuously reported on via social media, with Geoff Keighley tweeting out the news.

Was Overwatch 2 delayed?

Both titles were announced back at Blizzcon 2019, and while neither had a confirmed release date, at least Overwatch fans had hints from the developers that the sequel was set for release this year, with COVID-19 impacting said plans.
The last hero released for Overwatch, Echo, came out back in April, marking almost a full year with no big updates to the game, with all efforts seemingly going into Overwatch 2, which would have brought a plethora of new heroes and maps at the same time.
As for Diablo IV, Blizzard has remained tight-lipped, especially with the development of a mobile version of the franchise taking priority, Diablo Immortal.
Will they both release in 2022 or fans will have to wait even longer for their favourite franchises to return? Only time will tell.
