Changing your FOV can make it easier to see in certain games, and make them a lot more accessible; so how do you change your FOV in The Outlast Trials? There's no built-in field-of-view slider, but it's actually possible to change your FOV if you know what to do.
How To Change FOV in The Outlast Trials?
Unfortunately, The Outlast Trials doesn't have a built-in FOV slider, so you'll need to do a little bit of editing to the game's files to do make this work. Thankfully, though, the process isn't too challenging. Here's what you can do to change your FOV in The Outlast Trials on PC:
- Press the Windows key and R at the same time to open your computer's run menu.
- In the blank, type in “%localappdata%” without the quotation marks; this leads to your local app data directory,
- From here, go to your config file directory by following this path: “AppData\Local\OPP\Saved\Config\WindowsClient”
- Open Game.ini, since this is the file you'll need to edit.
- Within Game.ini, enter these lines exactly as follows:
[/script/opp.rbsettings_gameplay]
DefaultFOV=110.000000
AimingFOV=110.000000 - Change the numerical values to your FOV of choice; the numbers represent your FOV.
After making these changes, you can save the file. Once you re-open the game, you should be able to play with your new FOV. If you still need help, we suggest giving this video a watch from SuperCali8:
Can You Change FOV on PS5 or Xbox Consoles?
At the time of writing, there is no FOV slider for consoles and no workaround, either. It's possible that Red Barrels could add in an FOV slider to all platforms in the future, but for now, changing your game's files within the directory on PC is the only way to alter this feature.
