Just weeks following the recent Nintendo Direct, which focused on the Nintendo Museum set to open its doors this year, the Japanese publisher announced another Direct presentation this August. This time around, eager fans can expect a bonus presentation as the Indie World Showcase will also be taking place, although, before the Direct Partner presentation, we can look forward to new and upcoming indie releases heading to the Switch console.
The announcement of two presentations came with yet another warning, as Nintendo has asked players not to set unrealistic expectations ahead of these presentations. As such, eager players won't expect to hear any news and announcements for the next Switch consoles throughout both presentations, as confirmed by Nintendo.
Nintendo announced across their social media accounts that not one but two presentations are scheduled for August 2024, with dates and times announced. This news comes following the recent Nintendo Direct presentation for the Nintendo Museum, in which the latest presentations will be the Indie World and Direct Partner showcases livestreaming on their YouTube channel.
The Indie World Showcase will kick off this double feature, which begins on 27th August 2024 at 7 am PT / 10 am ET / 2 pm UTC, with the Direct Partner Showcase immediately after Indie World. Nintendo revealed that both presentations would be 40 minutes long, and a follow-up comment was made that there was " no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during either of these presentations."
With this in mind, players have begun speculating online on what gaming news could be announced during either presentation, with Hollow Knight: Silksong dominating social media trends once more. While it's more than likely it will get a separate Direct Showcase, there's a chance we could see more footage for one of Nintendo's upcoming releases, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, which may be the focus of the Direct Partner Showcase.
