Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak got its Title 2 update, and with it, new monsters are available for Hunters to take on. One of these monsters is known as the Risen Chameleos.
There are plenty of monsters for you to hunt in Sunbreak, especially when you consider how many monsters were added in the Title 1 update. Here, we will go into detail on how you can prepare yourself to fight the Risen Chameleos.
Preparing To Hunt The Risen Chameleos
The Risen Chameleos is classified as an Elder Dragon, which means hunters need to prepare for a difficult fight. Elder Dragons are considered to be some of the more difficult hunts in the Monster Hunter series.
The absolute key to defeating the Risen Chameleos is poison control and mitigation. The Risen Chameleos does not use normal poison though.
This Elder Dragon spits Noxious Poison. The difference is simply that your health will decrease 50% faster if you are afflicted with this poison. This means that you should gear up with as many Antidotes and Herbal Medicines as you can.
There are also a few armor sets that you can equip that will increase your poison resistance. Here are the sets you should consider equipping:
- Edel Armor Set
- Edel S Armor Set
- Edel X Armor Set
- Rathian X Armor Set
- Rembora X Armor Set
- Skalda/Spio Armor Set
- Skalda S/ Spio S Armor Set
- Skalda X/ Spio X Armor Set
- Wroggi X Armor Set
The faster you cure yourself of the poison, the better the position you will be in to carry on the hunt.

Now that you have a good defense set up, let's talk about offense. This particular Monster Hunter Rise boss has a weakness for fire-type attacks.
So if you have a weapon that is particularly good at dishing out fire damage, you should bring that for this hunt. There are other ways to deal fire attacks without the use of a fire weapon.
If there are other monsters roaming in the area, like a Rathalos, you can ride it and force it to use fire attacks against the Risen Chameleos.
Just be careful because the Risen Chameleos can temporarily turn invisible. When it does that, throw a Flash Bomb to force it to come out of hiding.
Having Flash Bombs, a way to deal with poison damage, and a way to deal fire damage are the keys to taking down the Risen Chameleos.
