Sony’s San Diego Studio has run the bases quite a bit with MLB The Show. Originally released as MLB The Show 06, the first fifteen iterations of the annualized Major League Baseball sports-sim were all released exclusively on PlayStation consoles. In 2021, The appropriately titled MLB The Show 21 was the first to make its way to Xbox consoles.
The following year, The Show 22 completed the console trifecta and landed on Nintendo Switch. So now, after years of waiting, will PC players finally get to take to the field and get in on the fun? Here’s everything you need to know about whether or not MLB The Show 23 will come to PC.
Is MLB The Show Coming to PC?
All eyes were on the MLB The Show 23 cover athlete announcement on January 30th. The 24-year-old Miami Marlins Star Outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. was enthusiastic and playful in his announcement video, regaling his journey from bright-eyed baseball mega-fan to MLB superstar.
Equally important was the announcement of the available platforms at launch, which include the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox family of consoles, as well as its inclusion in Game Pass on launch day. Notably missing from the press releases and videos, though, was any mention of a PC release date.
Unfortunately, this means that, yet again, PC players are being benched for another round of The Show. This isn’t all doom and gloom, though. Sony has recently begun bringing their first-party titles to PC. Most recently, Nixxes Software has brought both of Insomniac’s Spider-Man titles to PC, though other titles, such as 2018’s God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn, have made the leap, too. So it stands to reason that it's only a matter of time before MLB The Show finally comes to a PC near you.
While PC fans won’t be able to hop into MLB The Show 23 this year, there’s always hope for next year. In the meantime, why not check out our preview of WWE 2K23?
