Konami has officially announced a Metal Gear Solid 3 remake for PlayStation consoles.
Konami also confirmed “Volume 1” of a Metal Gear Solid remaster collection, featuring Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3.
More to follow.
[Original Story Follows] - Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake has been rumored for a reveal for a LONG time now, and with the PlayStation Showcase basically upon us, a lot of people are wondering if it'll show up at the show, and when the game itself will release.
When Will Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Release?
It's likely that Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake doesn't release until 2024 at the earliest. If the game is announced at the PlayStation Showcase, it'll likely be an announcement that the game does exist without any gameplay at all. Gameplay could come later this year at The Game Awards, but it's unlikely to be in the initial reveal at all.
Will Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake be at the PlayStation Showcase?
Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake has long been rumored to exist, and several sources have stated that the game will be at the PlayStation Showcase. If true, it'll likely show up midway through the show as a surprise reveal, perhaps with the famous codex sound playing at the start of the trailer.
Jez Corden over on Twitter has confirmed that the title is real and coming to Xbox, PC, and PlayStation though, and he's only the latest in a long line of people to confirm that the title is real. Outlets such as VGC and InsiderGaming have verified the existence of the game, so it'd be a shock if it WASN'T announced soon. If we somehow don't see it at the show tonight, we'll absolutely see it during Summer Game Fest.
Corden also confirmed that a legacy collection is being released for the first three games, with Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, and 3 included in the package. This means that you can easily catch up on the titles prior to the MGS 3 Remake without breaking the bank.
