The snake's out of the bag... or out of a cardboard box; as a blunder on part of Sony's digital storefront, the PlayStation Store, as it accidentally revealed key information for Konami's upcoming Metal Gear Solid remaster. The official PlayStation Store listing for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater didn't have a confirmed release date prior to the leak, but this major detail slipped through the digital cracks.

This leak included a trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater posted to its store page, which accompanied details on gameplay content, features, and, of course, a release date for this Fall. It's possible that this information may have been withheld until the forthcoming PlayStation State of Play, which is being teased to be held this February 2025 (h/t NateTheHate).

After details for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater were leaked on the PlayStation Store, it's clear that the information regarding its release was scrubbed off the store listing as the trailer was removed in light of the leak. Unfortunately, it may have been too late as the release date trailer was posted on social media and other online platforms, going viral as it revealed its release date of 28th August 2025.

The leaked trailer also revealed the return of the Snake vs. Monkey mode from the original game release, but as mentioned before, the trailer was removed from the game's PlayStation Store listing. As to what's available on the official game listing for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater are key details, including a brief game summary and features included at launch, such as Remote Play support and PS5 Pro enhancements.

Konami announced Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remaster of the 2004 release Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, in May 2023 before players gained their first in-game engine preview during the Xbox Partner Preview event in October 2023. At the time of its reveal, it was still under development by Konami, and the team utilized the full power of Unreal Engine 5, of which an official trailer was revealed at the Xbox Games Showcase in June 2024, but no release date was confirmed until the recent leak.
