There's no doubt that Marvel's Black Panther was a smashing success at the box office with its 2018 debut receiving rave reviews across the board. While it appeared the film was setting us up for an iconic set of movies, only a short few years later the main protagonist, Chadwick Boseman, unexpectedly died.
After Boseman passed away in 2020 due to a private battle with cancer, many fans wondered if the Black Panther series might have come to an end. It was later revealed that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever would be released in 2022, with many thinking the film will play heavy tribute to the late actor. The San Diego Comic-Con once again brought a myriad of excitement and surprises in the 2022 run. One of the more notable reveals at this year's event was the reveal for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

In addition to hosting a brief Q & A session for Black Panther 2, the first official trailer was unveiled for the world to see. The release date for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was also confirmed for 11th November 2022 bringing even more excitement to a revved-up fanbase.

During the Q & A session, writer-director Ryan Coogler spoke about the death of the series’ star, Chadwick Boseman.
“It’s going to be hard to follow that up, but we’ll try,” Coogler said. “It’s been five years since I was here. I sat about there and we premiered the first footage from ‘Black Panther 1,’ and sitting next to me was our T’Challa, the late great Chadwick Boseman.”
Coogler also offered additional information about the sequel film, stating “it goes to new places in Wakanda that we haven’t seen before and it goes to new places in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
While it will certainly be an emotional return to Wakanda, fans are undoubtedly excited and ready as ever to jump back into the Black Panther action for the next film in the series.
