When you dive into a new Madden 24 Franchise Mode save, one of the first things players often do is look to see how their roster can be improved. Fortunately, there are some great players to trade for early on that can get your foundation in place.
Whether you're looking for some offensive weapons or a little help on defense, we'll go over the top eight best players to trade for in Madden 24 Franchise Mode. If you're struggling to make the trades happen, we've also got a few tips to get these trades accepted.
Madden 24: Best Franchise Mode Players to Trade For
No matter which team you chooose to roll with, chances are an early trade could give you a definite advantage in Franchise Mode. While trading for the best players in the league can be enticing, these blockbuster trades will usually require you giving up so much that it may not even be worth it.
Fortunately, there are some great options to strengthen your roster without having to throw an entire team or draft out the window to get it. You can also change up your offer based on what the other team currently needs or toss in some draft picks to sweeten the deal, but you may also want to lower the trade difficulty in settings for a new save to make other teams more receptive to offers.
Tariq Woolen (CB) - Seattle Seahawks
First up we have a defensive option with the 24-year-old cornerback Tariq Woolen. Starting the year at just 83 OVR, Woolen has a reasonable contract but also boasts nearly unmatched speed and acceleration.
With a 98 in Speed, 96 in Acceleration, and 95 in Jumping, you've got the makings of an absolute ball hawk. You may need to work on upgrading other areas over time, but Woolen can become a cornerstone of your defense.
Brock Purdy (QB) - San Francisco 49ers
If you're looking for a quarterback there are a few different ways to go, but one great option is Brock Purdy from the San Francisco 49ers. With him being their starter you may have to work a little harder to get this trade accepted, but Brock Purdy has plenty of upside at a 73 OVR rating for the 23-year-old playcaller.
You'll have a solid 86 in Acceleration, but Purdy also has an 88 in Throw Accuracy Short and 83 in Throw Accuracy Medium. With his Madden 24 ratings rising already this year, there's clearly potential you can foster to make Purdy your franchise quarterback.
Quez Watkins (WR) - Philadelphia Eagles
Starting the year at a 75 OVR rating, Quez Watkins is just 25 years old but has extremely useful ratings to foster for your receiving corps. While Watkins might not be your reliable WR 1 from the jump, he's a great long-term investment that will continue to improve and become a staple of your offense.
Watkins has a 97 in Speed, 95 in Acceleration, 87 in Jumping, and a decent 72 in Catching. That last rating might not sound ideal, but a solid quarterback and upgrades over time will help cover that flaw.
Troy Anderson (MLB) - Atlanta Falcons
Looking now to another defensive option from the Atlanta Falcons, we have Troy Anderson. While his overall rating isn't spectacular at a 66 OVR, Anderson is only 24 years old and can be built into a key piece of your defense.
Anderson starts strong with a 94 in Acceleration, 92 in Speed, and 87 in Agility. You'll also have a solid 86 in Toughness and improveable 77 in Tackle if you work on upgrading this player down the line.
De'Von Achane (HB) - Miami Dolphins
If you need someone reliable at running back, going with the 22-year-old Texas A&M alum currently with the Miami Dolphins is your best choice. At just a 76 OVR at launch, Achane's already proved himself enough to hit an 82 OVR via the latest Madden 24 roster update, but you'll get the launch roster when making a new Franchise mode save which makes him easier to acquire.
Not unlike other players on this list, his strengths lie with a 95 in Speed and 94 in Acceleration, but Achane also has a 92 in Carrying and 90 in Change of Direction. That'll only improve over time, and at such a young age you could make this halfback the cornerstone of your offense.
Nolan Smith Jr. (LOLB) - Philadelphia Eagles
Going back to the defensive side of the ball again, a great pick to acquire at left outside linebacker is Nolan Smith Jr. from the Philadephia Eagles. Another 22-year-old player to trade for, Smith has a solid 73 OVR rating that should keep him from being too difficult to trade for.
Nolan Smith Jr. has a 95 in Acceleration, 93 in Speed, and decent 87 in Agility to start things off. His 95 in Jumping may also be helpful for interfering with the passing game whether it be via tipped balls or critical interceptions.
Noah Fant (TE) - Seattle Seahawks
While you can load up the wide receivers and they're easier to acquire and develop in the draft, having a good reliable tight end can be very helpful in Franchise Mode. For a proven but still somewhat young option, you wanna try to score the 78 OVR Noah Fant from the Seattle Seahawks and make this 26-year-old an instant starter.
You've got the pure athleticism with a 92 in Acceleration and 88 in Speed and Agility, but Fant also has a great 91 in Catching. Over time, you should also be able to improve his route running and blocking to make this one of your most versatile weapons.
Malik Willis (QB) - Tennessee Titans
Lastly, we have one more quarterback option to trade for in Franchise Mode in a 24-year-old Malik Willis. You might not be impressed by this 66 OVR player on the surface, but the third-string backup from the Tennessee Titans is an easy acquisition that can be a long-term investment.
Despite his low overall Madden 24 ratings, Willis has a 93 in Acceleration, 90 in Speed, and very strong 94 in Throw Power. You'll have to work on improving his accuracy and be careful not to make risky throws, but Willis is a solid option you can rely on from the jump if you need to a quarterback to trade for in Franchise mode.
