With Season 5 kicking off in MUT 24, EA Sports has also deployed Title Update 9 with the primary focus being a postseason shakeup of the existing X-Factors roster. Some players were upgraded while others had their X-Factor removed, and they did slip in a few minor bug fixes.
As Season 4 finally arrives, it's bringing a huge addition in the form of a live Madden 24 Franchise Mode crossplay beta. Clearly a feature they hope to be sorted out by the time the Madden 25 release date lands, players can check league settings in Franchise Mode and activate it today. While it does work for existing saves, they recommend not doing so in case the feature is disabled due to bugs during the beta.
The December Title Update has now been announced by EA along with official Gridiron Notes, and this relatively small update is still bringing some positive changes.

EA has revealed the official Gridiron Notes detailed all of the changes in the latest Madden 24 Update including several X-Factor ability shifts.

Ahead of its deployment on all platforms, EA has revealed the Madden 24 patch notes for their November Title Update, dubbed Title Update 4.
We've got full details below on every change implemented including major bug fixes and several new player face scans to update their in-game likeness.
Without any official announcement, Madden 24 Update 1.007 aka Update 1.06 has begun to deploy on all platforms. The update clocks in at just 523.99 MB on Xbox Series X|S.
As of now, no Madden 24 Update 1.06 Patch Notes have been revealed. Considering the timing, this could be another hotfix and official patch notes may not be revealed.
According to Madden NFL Direct, Madden 24 Ultimate Team and Superstar Showdown were temporarily restricted while the dev team investigated newly discovered issues.
The issue with MUT was resolved relatively quickly, but Superstar Showdown stayed restricted and Madden NFL Direct never provided any additional updates on this situation.
According to Madden NFL Direct, player reports of "unintended dropped interceptions" while using the Competetive game setting had been reported.
They explained that further updates would be shared in the next Title Update Gridiron Notes, which are expected to arrive in early November 2023.
After mentioning a few things that were on the way, the Madden 24 October Title Update has finally deployed and full Madden 24 patch notes have been revealed.
This marks only the second major Title Update since launch, though EA has decided to refer to this as Title Update 3 in their own patch notes as they skipped over releasing official notes for Title Update 1.

As revealed on the EA Answers forum, devs are currently working on issues facing Franchise Mode. They've outlined the following due to deploy in the October Title Update:
- Downloaded Draft Classes: Appearance of players being affected when importing a custom Draft Class.
- Auto-Generated Draft Class: Appearance of players being affected when selecting the auto-generated Draft Class option. (e.g. Chunky QBs)
They also explained that previously downloaded draft classes will not be retroactively fixed nor will previously auto-generated draft classes, but these should be fixed for new ones made after the update deploys.
With the next major title update still down the road, Madden 24 Update 1.005 also known as Madden 24 Update 1.04 has begun to deploy on consoles.
Download size is not known and no official patch notes have been revealed, so it looks like this will just be a hotfix where EA doesn't acknowledge what was addressed.
After dropping one quick hotfix early on, the first major title update for Madden 24 has now been released. Madden 24 Update 1.03 also known as Update 1.004 has now deployed on all platforms.

- Fatigue Tuning Update - We have now reverted the Fatigue changes where defenders would get a severe fatigue penalty when pass rushing and engaging in a block with a blocker that was significantly bigger than the defender.
DEV NOTE - Though the concept of this new fatigue penalty was something that was correct in premise, the application resulted in too many undesired artifacts that hindered the end user’s playing experience. Madden 24 Update 1.12 Patch Notes (January 10)
To coincide with the launch of Season 4 in Ultimate Team, Madden 24 Update 1.12 Patch Notes have officially been released detaling all the latest fixes. Perhaps the biggest news is the now live Franchise Mode crossplay beta, which players can dive into after downloading the update.

GAMEPLAY
- Fixed an issue preventing defenders equipped with ‘Edge Threat’ from using non-engaged pass rush moves.
- DEV NOTE:We have adjusted the tolerances for non-engaged pass rush moves to trigger more. This fix will allow pass rushers to use pass-rush moves that trigger before they get engaged by a blocker.
- Fixed an issue where the Conductor Ability was not granting the user 2 adjustments as the QB was walking to the line.
- Tuning to fatigue logic so defenders who are not dedicated pass rushers will suffer a more severe fatigue penalty when engaging with a pass blocker that is significantly bigger than them.
- DEV NOTE: With the prevalence of Defensive Back blitzes being used as staple defenses, we noticed that there were many cases where the DB would get picked up by a Tight End or an Offensive Lineman that was significantly bigger and stronger than the defensive back but the blitzing DB would be able to engage in this mismatch over and over again without fatiguing. Now if a defender who is not a dedicated pass rusher having a Power Move and Finesse Move rating below 70 engages in a blocking mismatch where they are outweighed by 90 lbs or more, they will suffer a significant fatigue hit.

Madden 24 Update 1.11 Patch Notes (December 6)
While we saw some big changes to X-Factor players and other aspects of the game last time, Madden 24 Update 1.11 has arrived with a lackluster if still helpful update. Three players have gotten a likeness update, and a handful of bugs have finally been fixed.

GAMEPLAY
- Fixed an issue granting blockers a significant bonus to win-chance on RPO plays vs. defensive sets with 3 or less pass rushers.
- DEV NOTE:There is exploit-prevention logic that increases the offensive line blocking win-chance when heavy offensive sets are matched up against light sub defensive sets with 3 or less ‘bigs’ rushing the passer; this logic was activating on RPO plays incorrectly.
- Tuning to reduce catch-penalty on catches where the receiver has to catch the ball behind or use a back-shoulder catch.

Madden 24 Title Update 4 Patch Notes (November 2)
Ahead of deployment on all platforms, EA has already released their official Gridiron Notes spotlighting the latest bug fixes and player likeness updates. The development team also mentioned that improvements were made specifically to address slow loading times in MUT for Gen 4 players.
Here are the full official Madden 24 patch notes for Title Update 4:
GAMEPLAY:
- Tuning to lower the ratings threshold for catching interceptions on the Competitive game style to decrease the number of dropped interceptions.
- DEV NOTE: This applies to open catches, since physical contact with a player or the ball can still cause the ball to be knocked out.
- Fixed an issue causing undesired catch-drops when the QB would get hit during or shortly after throwing the ball.
- DEV NOTE:In our September Title Update, we included a fix to decrease the chance for defenders to catch the ball quickly after a QB pass out of a hit, but that fix had the unintended result of decreasing the chance to catch passes during or after a QB hit globally. In response, we are backing that change out of the game to return catch-chances to previous values. This will temporarily re-introduce situations that allow pass rushers to sometimes catch the ball when the QB throws out of a hit, but we plan to refine that logic without impacting the global catch-chance in an upcoming title update.
- Fixed an issue causing the curl-flat defender in 3-4 Odd SS Trap 2 to align on the wrong side of the field against empty sets.
- Fixed an issue causing safeties and cornerbacks to have flipped assignments when covering offensive formations with 3 tight ends.
- Fixed an issue allowing the ball carrier to have no fumble chance when diving; after this fix, ball carriers will have a higher risk of fumbling when diving into traffic.
- Increased the size of the Passing Accuracy meter.
- Fixed an issue sometimes allowing unblocked defenders when using block-and-release routes in empty formations.
- DEV NOTE:Eligible receivers with a block-and-release assignment will not go out into their route until they have at least made contact with the blitzing defender that they are targeting. The blocker will stay in the engagement for a very short period of time, then release on his route.
- Fixed a rare issue causing players engaged in a block to freeze on the field for the rest of the play.
FRANCHISE MODE:

Madden 24 Update 1.007 / 1.06 Patch Notes (October 17)
While we've now seen Madden 24 Update 1.007 deploy on next gen with counterpart Madden 24 Update 1.06 hitting current gen, EA has yet to drop official patch notes. In the past, EA has had a tendency to occasionally avoid official patch notes for updates outside of their major monthly title update.
We can confirm that Madden 24 Update 1.007 was only 523.99 MB on Xbox Series X|S, and it'll likely be similar in size on other platforms. As a result, it seems likely this was just more of a hotfix addressing a few lingering bugs ahead of next month's title update.
Madden 24 Update 1.05 / 1.006 Patch Notes (October 4 Title Update)
Ahead of the full Madden 24 patch notes, EA also provided some additional information about fixes coming in future weeks and how Franchise Mode changes will impact previously created draft classes:
- Slow UI Transitions - In our last update, we mentioned our prioritization around UI transitions. - When your player is entering the zone, this X-Factor ability grants you an extremely high chance to win your first interaction with a defender. This will include fakeout attempts, truck/stiff arm attempts, and breaking a tackle.
Pro Tip: Look for Kyle Brandt's Angry Runs player of the week to see which players earn this ability in Ultimate Team.
- When your player is entering the zone, this X-Factor ability grants you an extremely high chance to win your first interaction with a defender. This will include fakeout attempts, truck/stiff arm attempts, and breaking a tackle.
- Travis Kelce equipped with 3rd Down Threat
- This Superstar ability grants your player an improved chance of winning contested catches on 3rd down while in single coverage. This will only activate if the pass is within 25 yards of the line of scrimmage.

- This Superstar ability causes the center to bolster the entire offensive line, allowing players to hold blocks for a longer period of time then they normally would.

- When in the zone, this X-Factor ability grants players an extremely high chance to defeat pass blocks while rushing or force catch knockouts while in coverage.
- Pro Tip: In addition to these abilities being available on base rosters, these new abilities will be available to equip your players with in Ultimate Team.
Catching
- Fixed an issue causing players to warp to their feet after playing a diving catch.
- Fixed a rare issue preventing running backs from playing catches on swing routes when leading them upfield.
- Fixed a rare issue allowing defenders to use a one-handed interception through the receiver’s arms.
- Tuning to reduce the catch success chance for pass rushers when attempting to catch an errant throw-out-of-sack pass.
- Tuning to reduce the amount of catch-tackle knockouts, specifically targeted at curl routes when leading away from the defender.
Defense & Special Teams
- Tuning to Real-Time AI adjustment logic so it will not take effect when the defense is using pass coverage/sub defense personnel.
- DEV NOTE: After hearing your feedback, and looking at the online game stats, we have added additional criteria so the defense will now have to have at least as many defensive linemen and linebackers on the field as the offense has offensive linemen and tight ends in order to activate the benefit of recognizing repeated run plays. For example, a defense aligning in a Dime defense vs. a 1 RB/1 TE offensive formation will now reflect the defense playing to stop the pass instead of the run.
- Tuning to QB Contain logic so only edge-rush defenders that are very close to the line of scrimmage will be able to get assigned QB Contain.
- Fixed an issue allowing a blitz exploit where the defense would slant-out the defensive line after using QB Contain to get unrealistic edge heat; now interior pass rushers will take appropriate rush angles understanding that the edge rushers are in contain.
- Fixed an issue allowing a user-controlled defender to tackle a punt returner after a fair-catch signal with no penalty.
- Fixed an issue causing receivers to enter the ‘give-up’ assignment sometimes after a catch in the flat to their side of the field.
- Fixed an issue causing kickers to immediately walk toward the sideline after performing a squib kick.
- Modified the defensive audibles logic so teams can only audible to formations with matching personnel.
- DEV NOTE: Previously users were only able to audible to different defensive sets within a defensive formation but we were not looking at substitutions that were made prior to the audible. Users will no longer be able to audible to a Set that puts their substituted Safety on the Defensive Line. Users will have the ability to audible from Nickel to Dime if they have substituted a Linebacker with a Defensive Back which they could not do before.
- Fixed an issue causing a user-controlled defensive lineman to sometimes get stuck in his stance after shifting the line to the right in the Nickel, 4-4 and 3-4 formations.
- Fix an issue allowing users to snap the ball too quickly on no-huddle plays (carrying forward the fix from the last title update that was made to the Competitive Game Style).
AI
- Fixed an issue where the AI-controlled team would burn their last timeout early and would sometimes not attempt field goals with the clock expiring.
- Fixed an issue causing AI-controlled teams to attempt long field goals when out of range.
Passing
- Tuning Pitch/Lateral accuracy to make it more difficult/risky to perform long-distance laterals while moving in opposite directions.
- DEV NOTE: Users were able to create unrealistic long pitch plays using the Speed Option to draw the defense in, then pitch the ball to a player really far away. Now the pitch will not be as accurate when attempting to pitch such a far distance and the facing angle of the QB will also be taken into account.
- Fixed a visual issue preventing the Skill-Based Passing power bar from updating correctly.
- Fixed an issue preventing the user-setting to hide the passing meter from carrying over into gameplay.
- Fixed an issue allowing Broncos QB Russell Wilson and Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes to throw on the run with no accuracy penalty.

Going live on September 19 just ahead of EA acknowleding some Franchise issue wouldn't be handled until later, Madden 24 Update 1.005 aka Update 1.04 Patch Notes were never revealed.
At this point, this looks to have been a mid-month hotfix and no official Madden 24 patch notes are expected to be released by EA for this update.
Madden 24 Update 1.03 / 1.004 Patch Notes (September 1 Title Update)
Ahead of the full Madden 24 patch notes for this inaugural Title Update, EA also responded to player feedback and detailed things that should be addressed in future updates:
- Slow UI Transitions - We heard your feedback about slow UI transitions. Our Dev team has been actively working to optimize high-traffic screens inside of Ultimate Team and Superstar. You can expect incremental updates and improvements to screen transitions in the coming weeks. Some of these improvements have already gone live and there are still more to come!
- Passing Accuracy -We’ve heard players feedback about passing accuracy, specifically inside of Ultimate Team gameplay. This title update does not include any updates or tuning to passing accuracy. As the player content in Ultimate Team progresses and the passing ratings get better, the expectation is QB’s will naturally become more accurate.
