Madden 22 has seen some serious issues pop up in its first couple of weeks since launch. From fans signing a petition to get EA to stop developing the game to a game-breaking loss glitch in Franchise mode, the devs have some work ahead of them.
However, most players agree that The Yard feature, which is returning from Madden 21, is one of the few bright spots of the game. Players are able to use their own character to complete a series of challenges, compete against other teams and do a variety of other things in this mode.
Of course, the biggest draw is the ability for players to customize their character with Cred and unlock abilities for them. The abilities allow players to turn their character into a player with superstar calibre stats. Although, some players haven’t been able to figure out this part of The Yard. All becomes clear below, though.
Unlocking abilities in The Yard of Madden 22
The only way for players to unlock abilities for their character in The Yard is to level them up. This is done by simply playing The Yard, as after every match or challenge your character will gain XP and progress toward the next level.
The first ability is unlocked at level 7, the second at level 11 and the third at level 19. Players can fill these ability slots with whatever ability that is available to them. This depends on the class you picked when creating your character for The Yard. They essentially add an extra boost for your character.
For players wondering about the Superstar X-Factor, this specific ability is unlocked at level 2. If you don’t happen to like the X-Factor ability, though, you can edit it once you reach level 20. This is the highest level you can attain for a character.
If you want to level up your character quickly, make sure to participate in any event that’s taking place in The Yard. With enough time, you’ll reach level 20 and unlock the full potential for your character.
