In the game Lies of P, various bosses will challenge you in different ways. Some will demand pattern recognition to defeat, while others will test your endurance. The Puppet of the Future is one such boss that may push your endurance, as it's not the most difficult to defeat but has a substantial health bar.
So, if you're in the process of discovering and defeating this boss and require some tips on how to overcome this formidable opponent, we've got you covered. Below, you'll find a concise and comprehensive guide on locating and defeating the Puppet of the Future Boss in Lies of P.
Puppet of the Future Location in Lies of P
The Puppet of the Future represents the first optional boss encounter you'll come across while exploring the Vegnini Works area in Lies of P. Although defeating the boss is not mandatory, we highly recommend doing so as it offers numerous benefits, including a substantial amount of Ergo, the acquisition of a unique weapon known as the Booster Glaive, and the fact that the battle itself is not overly challenging.
To locate the Puppet of the Future, start from the first Stargazer within the Workshop Union entrance. From this point, you have the option to go right and explore the surrounding area or go left to head directly towards the boss. Opt for the latter by heading left and following the alleyway as it bends to the right. Continue in a straight path until you reach a small pipe bridge on your left and a ladder leading down to the boss's location.
Here's where it gets a bit tricky. If you haven't explored the area beforehand, you won't have drained the toxic substance on the ground that the Puppet of the Future is standing on. While it's possible to engage the boss with this disadvantage, we strongly recommend exploring the area first and deactivating the toxic supply to level the playing field before facing the boss.
How To Beat the Puppet of the Future
The boss itself isn't particularly difficult to defeat, despite its imposing size, as it only has four distinct moves, which we've outlined below:
- Foot Stop: The boss raises its foot in an attempt to step on you and deal damage. This move has decent tracking, so either step back to a safe distance or guard ideally to avoid taking damage.
- Double Foot Stomp: The boss lifts both feet while supporting itself on its arms and then slams them down. This move is easier to dodge since the boss stops moving, allowing you to simply move away to avoid getting hit.
- Ground Slam: The boss employs the wrecking balls on its arms to smash the ground and crush you. This attack is relatively easy to dodge and predict, so dodge it and counter-attack.
- Spin Attack: The boss rests both of its wrecking ball arms on the ground, and its torso begins spinning, with the wrecking balls turning alongside. This attack inflicts significant damage if you get caught in it, so back away as soon as you see both arms resting on the ground.
To defeat the boss, your primary objective is to avoid these easily telegraphed attacks and strike when it's safe to do so. The boss moves slowly, so you won't be caught off guard unless you become overly aggressive.
The boss also exhibits moments of vulnerability where it staggers, allowing you to execute a critical strike on its legs for substantial damage. However, what makes this battle challenging is the boss's substantial health bar and its capacity to deal high damage. Consequently, the battle may take some time, and if you lose focus and get hit, it can be quite impactful.
In summary, maintain your composure, deal damage when the opportunity arises, utilize the boss's staggered state to expedite the process, and before long, you'll emerge victorious in the battle against the Puppet of the Future. Your reward for defeating it includes one Quartz for your P-Organ, a Radiant Ergo chunk, and 4,700 Ergo.
