Twitch streamer, Tyler "Tyler1" Steinkamp, recently achieved Challenger ranking in League of Legends on one of his smurf accounts after playing nearly all of his ranked matches in the mid lane.
After securing his ranking, the Twitch star made an ultimatum, demanding that Twitch and Riot Games change the image tile of League of Legends on the streaming site to a picture of his face for one day. If they didn't do it, Tyler1 said that he would quit.
While his demand was presumably made in jest, Twitch did not seem to budge; however, Riot Games stepped up and honoured Tyler1 in the most hilarious way on Twitter.
League of Legends honour Tyler1 by changing their Twitter profile photo
On 24th September, the official League of Legends Twitter account congratulated Tyler1 on "adding another one to the list" and showed off their new profile picture. They also apologised for being unable to persuade Twitch to do concede to his 'request.'
The image is absolutely hilarious and features the League of Legends champion, Annie, with Tyler1's face photoshopped over her furry companion, Tibbers. The photo couldn't be more appropriate since Annie was among Tyler1's most frequently used (and successful) champions throughout his all-mid ranked endeavour.
According to op.gg, Tyler1 had a 64% win rate with Annie out of the 157 games he played with her, ending off with a KDA of 6.0/4.8/8.4 -- absolutely incredible! Some of the other champions Tyler1 played with included Fizz (51% win rate), Irelia (73% win rate) and Akshan (56% win rate).
Tyler1 is one of the most popular personalities in the League of Legends community and boasts a fanbase of over 4.5 million followers on Twitch. It's easy to see why he is so popular too. Having knocked out 1800 games over several months to reach Challenger rank, there wasn't a single match that wasn't entertaining to watch.
The clip below pretty much sums up all of Tyler1's streams. In case you're using headphones, we suggest turning the volume down a bit... it gets a little, erm... loud.
Congratulations, Tyler1! We look forward to you bagging yet another dub -- hopefully next time, the stakes will be higher.
