The fantastic ARPG, Last Epoch, is all about traveling through time to stop The Void from consuming the world of Eterra, but sometimes, you need to quickly go and open the door for a delivery or make a cup of tea. If that's the case, you will want to pause your Last Epoch game.
There is no way to pause the game during online play, either with friends or alone on the Last Epoch servers. However, there is one specific mode and one way to pause Last Epoch!
Pausing Your Game in Last Epoch Explained
Developer Eleventh Hour Games has added the ability to launch Last Epoch in a "fully offline mode" via Steam for PC gamers. In this fully offline mode, the "Esc" key is now used by default to pause your Last Epoch game!
When launching the game on Steam, you should see the option to play either normally or via the Last Epoch full offline mode. If you didn't get this notification, you can follow the steps below to set your preferences.
- Make sure Last Epoch is updated to version 1.0 or higher.
- Right-clicking on the game in your Steam library.
- Select "Properties."
- Navigate to the "General" tab and select Launch Options.
- In the dropdown menu, select one of the three options, including "Ask when starting the game," "Play Last Epoch (online mode)," or "Play Full Offline."
I've said this previously, but I will say it again. Games like Diablo 4 should learn from Last Epoch and allow for a full offline mode with the ability to pause.
