As players eagerly anticipate the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition this November, they will get to relive the franchise’s iconic city of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Based on the American city of Miami, Florida, Vice City still features one of GTA’s most popular and beloved locations to date.
From the beautiful sandy beaches to the lively characters, Vice City was brought to life thanks to the game’s voiceover cast. So, with that in mind, let’s take a look at the amazing voiceover cast and the characters they play in GTA: Vice City.
GTA: Vice City voiceover cast
Rockstar Games has enlisted some of Hollywood’s biggest names in film and television, which received critical praise from journalists and critics at the time. The voiceover cast brought personality and attitude, which was one of the factors that contributed to the game’s iconic status.
From the major to minor characters, each one is interesting and well-loved by players even 19 years after the game's release. Below we have named the main voiceover cast of GTA: Vice City alongside the character they voice in the game.
Ray Liotta as Tommy Vercetti
Hollywood legend Ray Liotta voiced Vice City’s protagonist, Tommy Vercetti, a mobster just released from prison sent by his boss, Sonny Forelli, to establish business operations in Vice City. Vercetti became the franchise’s first speaking protagonist, who was described as “strong and dangerous and prepared to wait for the right opportunity to arise” by the game’s writer Dan Houser.
William Fichtner as Ken Rosenberg
Vercetti gets paired up with a corrupt lawyer, Ken Rosenberg, who made Vice City a more entertaining gaming experience given Rosenberg’s highly strung nature. Voiced by William Fichtner, Rosenberg assists Vercetti with guidance and missions as they try to establish themselves in Vice City.
Tom Sizemore as Sonny Forelli
At the head of the Forelli family, Sonny Forelli sends Vercetti to Vice City to oversee a business deal with Rosenberg. Sonny, who is voiced by Tom Sizemore, becomes the game’s main antagonist, especially as events continue to unfold in Vice City.
Forelli can be viewed as brash, impulsive, short-tempered and power-hungry given his treatment of Vercetti and other supporting characters during the events of Vice City. Forelli would do anything it takes to have more money, power and influence, including betraying his men.
Along with this, you can also have a look at the other voice actors of the game down below:
- Dennis Hopper as Steve Scott
- Burt Reynolds as Avery Carrington
- Luis Guzmán as Ricardo Diaz
- Philip Michael Thomas as Lance Vance
- Robert Davi as Colonel Juan Cortez
- Danny Trejo as Umberto Robina
- Gary Busey as Phil Cassidy
- Lee Majors as Mitch Baker
- Fairuza Balk as Mercedes Cortez
- Danny Dyer as Kent Paul
- Kevin McKidd as Jezz Torrent
- Debbie Harry as Taxi Controller
- Jenna Jameson as Candy Suxxx

The game’s writing team has done a stellar job of writing well-though and memorable characters like Tommy Vercetti, Ken Rosenberg and Sonny Forelli that helped push the game’s story forward, even with all plot twists and turns.
Rockstar Games would continue enlisting Hollywood talent to lend their voices to GTA characters in later titles, including Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto V, to name.
