How to get the Railgun in GTA 5 next-gen version

Fans of the long-running Grand Theft Auto series have waited patiently for the new era of GTA 5. Rockstar Games have made sure both the GTA 5 and GTA Online titles have been updated many times to keep the games fresh for players new and old.

Now the wait is finally over as GTA V next-gen is here for players on the cutting edge of consoles. Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 owners will be delighted with the new-look Los Santos, as they return to the crime-ridden streets.

Combat will be crucial as players will need to shoot themselves out of many tight situations. So here's a guide on how to get the Railgun in GTA 5 next-gen version.

GTA 5 next-gen how to get the Railgun

To unlock the Railgun in GTA 5 next-gen, players will have needed to play a bit of the Story (Career) mode. Specifically, the Main Story mission "Minor Turbulence" will need to be completed, which requires players to fly a two-seat plane inside a cargo plane (in the air).

After completing Minor Turbulence, head to the south end of Elysian Island where you'll need to acquire a Dinghy boat. Here's a map detailing the exact location of where to find the boat.

Then drive the boat to the Alamo Sea, which is the inland body of water North of Elysian Island. Players will need to pass through the Zancudo River on the West edge of the map in order to reach the Alamo Sea.

See the map location below for the exact point to reach in the Alamo Sea, where players will need to dive. Upon jumping out of the Dinghy boat, a scuba set will be applied to allow players to dive down deep underwater.

GTA 5 next-gen Railgun location

When players dive down underwater, a wrecked plane will be on the floor of the sea to explore. Swim into the breached main cabin and there will be a few glowing items to pick up.

Swim up to the front of the cabin where a Firework Launcher and Railgun will be available for players to loot free. Here's what it looks like as players approach the weapons.
