How To Find GTA Online Slashers Killers This Halloween

NOTE - In spite of Rockstar releasing plenty of Halloween themed content in October 2023, the Slashers event has not (yet) returned to the game. There's still two more event weeks in October, so could still be added in a future GTA Online Weekly Update.

Original Story Follows - From runaway Phantom Cars to mysterious UFOs, GTA Online is no stranger to introducing horror-inspired Halloween content into the game. One such event is the Slashers event, Rockstar's take on the classic Slasher genre of horror films.

Similar to the plot in Friday the 13th and other Slasher movies, one of several mysterious killers will try to hunt you down during this event. Here's how to find out where these killers are lurking and what rewards can be grabbed for taking them down.

How To Start The Slashers Event In GTA Online

A few criteria have to be met before the Slashers event can begin. Make sure the following requirements are all complete to make one of the killers appear.

• You must be playing the game in Free Roam mode. 
• You can't be inside a building. 
• You must be playing at night between the in-game hours of 9 pm - 5 am. 
• You must be walking or in a standard vehicle (no helicopters, planes, boats, etc.)
• You must have been playing the game for 16 minutes (8 in-game hours.)

If all these steps have been met, you will then have to proceed to one of the Slasher locations.  

• The Clown: South Los Santos.
• The Driver: Redwood Lights Racetrack / Maze Bank Arena.
• Psycho: Richman / Banham Canyon / Harmony.
• SackSlasher: Alamo Sea to Grapeseed.

If you manage to find a Slasher and take it down, you will be rewarded with the Twilight Knife T-Shirt item, which will be delivered within 72 hours after logging in from November 1. 

Additionally, as of 2022, players can now encounter a fifth Slasher. This new Slasher is a doppelganger of the player with bloody hands and has a 50% chance to replace one of the original four Slashers in each of their locations.

This means that you don't need to worry about any new locations; the doppelganger can be found in all of the same places as the original four Slashers.
