With Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) still as anticipated as ever, fans and theorists alike are scrounging around for any news on the release date of this highly anticipated entry into the franchise. While we still don't have any concrete leads, an upcoming investor call may give us some indication as to what the future holds.
If you're not caught up yet and want to know how this investor call can elude the release of GTA 6, then you're in luck. This article will cover everything you need to know about the buzz surrounding Take-Two's upcoming quarterly investor call and how it impacts GTA 6's release date.
GTA 6: On Schedule or Delayed? Take-Two Interactive Investor Call Holds Answers
On the 17th May 2023, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. is scheduled to report its fiscal fourth-quarter results after the close of markets Wednesday. As a Tl; DR, from what we gather based on MarketWatch's analysis it seems that the company will be more likely to give us news based on these results.
They state in their report when speaking to Wedbush analyst Nick McKay, that "If Take-Two frames the narrative around fiscal 2025’s potential with Zynga rather than a fiscal 2024 "letdown," McKay said, that additional color "could be perceived to leave the door open for Grand Theft Auto VI in [fiscal 2025], although a [fiscal 2026] or later launch seems more likely to us."
Take-Two will be holding its quarterly investor call tomorrow, May 17.

Expect updated sales figures for GTA 5, RDR2, and the usual future pipeline talk. As always, no new game announcements will happen during the meeting, so don’t anticipate anything GTA 6 related. pic.twitter.com/Yuko9T9zpX
This effectively means that if the projections look good for the upcoming financial year, then we'll more likely get a 2024 or 2025 release date for GTA 6. However, if they choose to play it safer, or are pressured into it, we may only see a release date for GTA 6 stretching into 2026.
So while the meeting will dictate whether we get the party line "things are going well, we are on schedule" a pushed back release date from Take-Two. It should be noted that no game announcements or news will be coming from this meeting, only that its results will be a good indicator of the speed at which we'll see GTA 6's release.
As always, take all information not given to us directly from the developers or publishers with a grain of salt, and be sure to check back here for more news once the meeting is concluded and we know more. For now, all we can do is wait and see where the chips fall for the trajectory of GTA 6.
