GTA 6 Announcement Coming This Week, Jason Schreier Reports

According to the ever-reliable Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier, Rockstar Games is expected to announce the next installment in the popular Grand Theft Auto franchise later this week.

"The company plans to then publish a trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI next month to celebrate Rockstar’s 25th anniversary," sources indicated to Schreier. 

A spokesperson for Rockstar didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from Bloomberg, but we doubt they would at this late stage. It's also possible that confirmation of this news will be revealed by Rockstar Games owners, Take-Two Interactive Software Inc, who plan to hold their next company earnings call this Wednesday.

Development on the new GTA 6 game has been underway for several years, but fans of the series got a first look last year after two hackers managed to release a tonne of early footage, following what Rockstar called a "network intrusion".
