The Genshin Impact’s 2.1 update brought with it a massive bunch of content based around the nation of Inazuma, highlighting the debut of three characters including the powerful Raiden Shogun, the addition of the Watatsumi and Seirai islands, and a new fishing system. Focusing on the latter, the introduction of fishing within Genshin Impact also brought with it many kinds of fish you can collect, and those can either be used for cooking, decorate your Serenitea Pot, and exchange them for some unique rewards at the Inazuma’s Fishing Association.
Here's everything you need to know about the elusive Raimei Angelfish, including exactly how to catch it and what travellers can use it for.
Get “The Catch” by collecting Raimei Angelfish
One of these rewards is a new weapon known as “The Catch”, a powerful polearm perfect for characters as the Raiden Shogun, however, you will need to collect some specific fish to get it, so in this article, we will help you catch the hardest of all you need, the Raimei Angelfish.
For starters, the Raimei Angelfish is a rare and valuable butterflyfish variant from Inazuma that loves water bodies suffused with Electro, and seems to derive joy from electric currents.
It’s said these fish were once from the same line as the Abiding Angelfish of Liyue until travelling merchants exported them to Inazuma. There, their behavioural patterns underwent an unexpected shift and at present, some researchers have begun to use them in conjunction with Electro Slimes for experiments.
Where to find Raimei Angelfish in Genshin Impact?
To find these, you will have to go to a fish pond near the shipwreck south of Kujou Encampment on Kannazuka Island, between the 18:00 - 6:00 in-game hours. Once there, you will find 2 Cryo Slimes you need to defeat and also an Electro Abyss Mage floating in the place where you'll be fishing the Raimei Angelfish.
After you clean your surroundings of enemies, then it’s time to fish. You must use only False Worm Bait to attract them, which you can create using Slime Condensate and a Berry, after buying the formula from Nantuck of the Mondstadt Fishing Association for 3 Medaka fishes.
To unlock “The Catch”, you will need to collect six Raimei Angelfish, along with 20 Golden Koi and 20 Rusty Koi. Since you will only find three fish ponds available, you’re going to have to wait until the fishing spots reset to get the six you need for The Catch.
Once you get the free weapon in the Fishing Association, you can continue collecting Raimei Angelfish and add them to your Serenitea Pot personal pond, so you may have your own collection of rare fish in your Domain. Be aware these are quite hard to catch, so patience will be crucial.
