Historia Antiqua: How to complete Genshin Impact's new legendary quest

Recently, the first themed event of the famous miHoYo game, Genshin Impact ended, where we had a story focused on Fischl and Mona looking for the root of a problem with strange meteorites falling from the sky, in "Unreconciled Stars".

Now, the Genshin developers have brought a new event before the holidays, starring Zhongli, a mysterious funeral advisor who was introduced to us in the main story, in Chapter I: Act 2.

The new event, called Historia Antiqua, presents us with a more complex narrative around a new deity, in addition to the Archons and Adeptus, and a complete story that leads to betrayal and contracts.

Requirements for the Historia Antiqua quest

Before you can play this new legendary quest, you must meet certain somewhat difficult requirements, to access it in the quests section:

• Complete all quests in Chapter I: Act III: "A New Star Approaches" in the main story.
• Have an Adventure Rank of level 40 or higher.
• Have in inventory a Story Key, which are obtained by completing eight Daily Commissions.

Once you get all this, you can start the legendary quest without problem.

How to complete Historia Antiqua in Genshin Impact

The first part of the event will appear as "Shadow of Yore". At the beginning of the mission, you will be asked to go to the Pearl Galley, a luxurious ship located at Liyue Harbor, in the Sea of Clouds.

In it, Zhongli will be waiting for you, where together with several passengers they will discuss something in particular: the location of the first Mora created.

After that, an archaeologist named Wanyan will approach to ask for support on an archaeological question, where mention is made of the Goddess of Salt and a supposed plan made centuries ago to assassinate her, by Morax.

Kliment, a Fatui researcher, will approach to try to get into the matter of the investigation when conducting an archaeological expedition, something that not everyone except Zhongli will see well, who accepts seeing it as a separate business and entails us to join them in the adventure.

For the next part of the mission, "Vortex's Wake", you will have to move to the Guyun Stone Forest, where the expedition will be waiting for you, and they will talk a little about the War of the Archons.

Once this is done, you will be asked to search around the area for relics, using Elemental Vision.

Once you have the three relics, you will have to meet back with the expedition, where Kliment will complain of having left him at his mercy while everyone was looking for the relics, which he seeks for economic interest, while the others do it to find the truth.

After this discussion, you should leave for Sal Terrae for the next part of the mission "A Ruin Under Lock and Key", a more than ideal place to learn more about the legend of the Goddess of Salt.

In Sal Terrae, you must meet the rest in an ancient stele, where they will find the entrance to a cave, which will be sealed and in which it’s believed, are the secrets of the murder of the Goddess, and perhaps treasures of high value.

Your mission will be to find a couple of mechanisms in Sal Terrae, which will allow you to break the seal of the cave. The first mechanism will be to the west, about 150 meters of the cave.

For the second mechanism, you will have to go back to the east, where you will have a little chat with Wanyan and Zhongli near some monoliths that you will have to activate using an Electro character.

Once you have activated all the monoliths in the correct order, you will have broken the seal of the cave. You will have to return to the seal site, where there will be another discussion and a pact between Zhongli, Wanyan and Kliment, before entering the cave and starting the next part of the mission, “Farewell, Sweet Salt”.

Inside the cave, you must follow the indicated path until you reach the ruins. You will meet several Slimes on the way.

Upon reaching the marked destination, you will enter a Domain called "Of Mysteries and Salt", where you will go in search of the divine relics of the Goddess of Salt, as well as being able to use Zhongli in the mission for certain sections.

When trying to claim the relic, Kliment will refuse to hand it over to Wanyan due to its higher value, for which you will have to fight him. Once you defeat him, he will leave the ruins. There will be an argument with Wanyan about why she is on the expedition, revealing her true intention.

Upon reaching the relic, Wanyan will protest about only being able to take one of the two parts of it because of the contract, since by restoring it, he thinks that the Goddess of Salt will be able to regain her lost power before Morax.

Zhongli will try to persuade her, however, Wanyan will do anything to take both parts of the sword. Zhongli, to punish Wanyan for breaking her contract, will tell her the truth about the Goddess of Salt, Havria.

He reveals that Havria was a small and weak deity, bowed to the power of other gods and that she fled the war while trying to save her people, something that in the end she couldn’t do and was killed with the relic in front of them: the Broken Sword.

Wanyan will run after the reveal, so we will have to follow her to a sealed entrance. Zhongli will open the room, where he will finish telling the truth about Goddess Havria, this being the place of her murder.

Once completed, we will have to leave the Domain and head again towards the Guyun Stone Forest, where Zhongli will be waiting for us on the top of a mountain.

Upon reaching the top, Zhongli will greet you with a personal speech, at the same time that he will ask you to promise to keep the memories of the expedition in your mind, on your next trips.

Finally, a cinematic will be shown in which both divine relics, the Chalice and the Ruler of Salt, will be thrown into the sea by Zhongli, giving Havria a final rest, thus ending the legendary quest.
