The 2.0 update of Genshin Impact "The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia" has brought tons of new features to the game such as the debut of the Inazuma region, as well as a tonne of new weapons and banners, and most importantly, new characters.
With Phase II about to begin, it will be time to say goodbye to Kamisato Ayaka from the game’s limited banners, who is making way for the debut of two new characters from the Inazuma archipelago.
The first of these adventurers is known for her creativity and ingenuity, as well as for her great affinity with the Pyro element that is part of her creations, which illuminate the skies of Inazuma in the shape of memorable firework shows. Introducing “Frolicking Flames” Yoimiya.
Yoimiya - Backstory and origins
To learn more about Yoimiya, we will have to transport ourselves to Hanamizaka, an area of Inazuma City, where we will find the oldest and one of the best firework shops in all of Inazuma, known as Naganohara Fireworks.
It’s right here where Yoimiya spends most of her time creating her various fireworks shows, which in addition to impressing the people of Inazuma and even the relentless Raiden Shogun, have a great message loaded with positivity and inspiration.
Thanks to the teachings of her father, she has learned that although we may face adversities, all we need to get past that them is something that illuminates our path and clarifies our ideas, so we can move forward in search of what we want to achieve.
All this is reflected in the creativity of her fireworks, which loaded with multicoloured figures offer an unparalleled experience for both families and children (who see her as a heroic sister), helping her win the respect and admiration of all the Inazuma region and the title of "Queen of the Summer Festival".
Yoimiya - Talents
Her normal attack, Firework Flare-Up, allows Yoimiya to perform up to five consecutive strikes with her bow, while with her charged attack, she can perform a more precise Aimed Shot with increased DMG. If charged enough, her next shot will gain these effects:
- Charge Level 1: Fires a flaming arrow that deals Pyro DMG.
- Charge Level 2: Generates a maximum of three Kindling Arrows based on time spent charging, released as part or her Aimed Shot. These will home in on nearby enemies, dealing Pyro DMG on hit.
With her elemental skill, Niwabi Fire-Dance, Yoimiya will wave a sparkler and cause a ring of saltpeter to surround her, activating her new passive called Niwabi Enshou.
Niwabi Enshou allows all of Yoimiya’s attacks to become Blazing Arrows, increase their damage and convert it to Pyro DMG. However, no Kindling Arrows can be generated during this effect until Yoimiya leaves the field.
Using her Elemental Burst, Ryuukin Saxifrage, Yoimiya will leap into the air with her original creation and fire forth blazing rockets, bursting with surprises that deal Pyro DMG around their area of impact and mark one of the hit opponents with Aurous Blaze.
Whenever you deal damage to an opponent marked with Aurous Blaze using any character (except Yoimiya), you will trigger an explosion that deals Pyro DMG. This mark will pass on to another nearby enemy if its wielder is defeated before its duration expires. Lastly, if Yoimiya is defeated, its effects will be deactivated.
Yoimiya - Best weapons
Thundering Pulse
Starting with the best 5-star weapon for her, Yoimiya’s debut will coincide with the release of a powerful bow known as the Thundering Pulse. This weapon is part of the Inazuma Series, blazing a fierce violet light providing great stats and an incredible ability, as it’s a longbow that was a gift from the Raiden Shogun, with eternal lightning crackling all around it.
It comes with a special passive called Rule by Thunder, which increases ATK by 20/25/30/35/40% and grants the might of the Thunder Emblem. At stack levels 1/2/3, its Thunder Emblem will increase Normal Attack DMG drastically.
Its wielder will obtain a stack of Thunder Emblem in each of the following scenarios: Normal Attack deals DMG (stack lasts five seconds), casting Elemental Skills (stack lasts ten seconds); or Energy is less than 100% (stack disappears when Energy is full), with each stack's duration being calculated independently.
Amos' Bow
Next up we will find the 5-star Amos’ Bow, an extremely ancient weapon that has retained its power despite its original master being long gone. It draws power from everyone and everything in the world, and the further away its wielder is from that which his or her heart desires, the more powerful it is.
Powered by its Strong-Willed, Amos’ Bow can increase Normal and Charged Attack DMG by 12/15/18/21/24%. After a Normal or Charged Attack is fired, DMG dealt will be increased by a further 8/10/12/14/16% every 0.1 seconds the arrow is in the air for up to five times.
Rust
Moving on to the 4-star weapons, we will find among the most recommended the Rust, an ancient bow as hard as cast iron, that once belonged to a famed archer who slew monsters and bandits like silvergrass in the wind.
This famed bow has become one of the favorites for many archers in Genshin Impact due to its stats and lore. So although it seems like a completely rusted iron greatbow, an average person would lack the strength to even lift it, let alone fire it.
Its passive, Rapid Firing, increases Normal Attack DMG by 40/50/60/70/80%, allowing for some fast offensive strategies against hordes of enemies, however it decreases Charged Attack DMG by 10%.
Hamayumi
We close this section with one of the most recent additions into the game, being part of the Amethyst Series and with this, available through Genshin’s Forging system, the Hamayumi.
Thanks to its “Full Draw” passive, this bow can increase Normal Attack DMG by 16/20/24/28/32% and Charged Attack DMG by 12/15/18/21/24%. Also, when its wielder’s Energy reaches 100%, this effect will be increased by 100%.
You can obtain this weapon’s diagram by completing the Wonders of the World achievement "Thank You, Come Again", by opening Takashi's chests after giving him three Mysterious Conches for seven days. To forge it, you will need the Northlander Bow Billet, 50 Amethyst Lumps, 50 White Iron Chunks, and 500 Mora.
Yoimiya - Best artifacts and stats
Shimenawa's Reminiscence
As the main choice for her artifacts, we will recommend one of the latest introductions in the update 2.0, the Shimenawa's Reminiscence set, as it will power up your ATK by 18% when having 2 pieces of it.
With four pieces, whenever you cast an Elemental Skill, if the wielder has 15 or more Energy, they will lose 15 energy and Normal, Charged and Plunging Attack DMG will be increased by 50% for ten seconds.
You can also combine this set with artifacts from the next one we will talk about below.
Crimson Witch of Flames
As a second option, we must suggest the extremely powerful Crimson Witch of Flames set, as it will increase considerably the power of her Pyro attacks and abilities, levelling up to the next stage and making her an unbearable force for any enemy nearby her.
By having two pieces from this set, her Pyro DMG will be increased by 15%. However, if you manage to get four pieces of this set, every Overloaded and Burning DMG will be increased by 40%, and also increase Vaporize and Melt DMG by 15%.
In addition, when using an Elemental Skill, it will increase the 2-Piece Set Bonus by 50% of its starting value for ten seconds, up to three stacks. You can combine this set with artifacts with pieces from either the Shimenawa's Reminiscence or the Gladiator's Finale set.
Artifact Stats
As for the statistics, these will be focused on exploiting her offensive capabilities, while also giving her more HP for its synergy with the recommended weapons, and increase her survival windows:
Main Stats:
- ATK
- CRIT
- Pyro DMG Bonus
Substats:
- ATK%
- Flat ATK
- CRIT DMG
- CRIT Rate
- Elemental Mastery
Recommended team composition and release date
Since Yoimiya will be used as the main DPS dealer of your party, your team composition will be focused on supporting her, as well as helping her setup Elemental Reactions as her Elemental Skill needs some active time to activate it.
Together with this, you will have to look for a second DPS dealer, to take advantage of her Elemental Burst once it’s ready, and to further increase Yoimiya’s damage potential. With that said, we recommend pairing her along with the teammates listed below:
- Xingqiu (Hydro),Kazuha (Anemo), or Fischl (Electro): Any of these three will serve as a fantastic Sub DPS, as all of them can be used to create lots of Elemental Reactions, without forgetting these enjoy of great power thanks to their abilities and attacks.
- Zhongli (Geo) or Noelle (Geo): Both of them can provide shields and healings, as well as debuffs against nearby enemies to battle safer in against many enemies.
- To complete your party, we suggest using any Pyro character (with a preference to units like Bennett or Xiangling), as their abilities will power up Yoimiya’s Pyro resonance.
And that’s all we gotta share with you about Yoimiya. Remember, she will only be available from 10th to 31st August in the banner “Tapestry of Golden Flames” along with Sayu’s debut, so try to save as many Primogems as you can.
