The world of Teyvat is vast and expansive, filled with the most diverse biome that can easily be found growing in the wild. The Liyue region is home to eight different local specialities, all possessing unique properties.
Violetgrass is one of these local specialities used mainly for crafting purposes in Genshin Impact. In this guide, we detail everything you need to know about Violetgrass, including the best spawning locations as well as how to farm these flowers and more.
What is Violetgrass in Genshin Impact?
Violetgrass is a local speciality item and cooking ingredient that is known for its purple petals and unique spawning locations. According to in-game lore, “A small flower with strong vitality. It was said its downward-blooming flower keeps its fragrance from dissipating”. These vibrant flowers may have a penchant for growing alongside rocky areas; however, the flower is an essential material for character ascensions.
Where to find Violetgrass in Genshin Impact?
As Violetgrass is a local speciality item, it can be found readily across the Liyue region. As such, Travelers will need to look out for rocky cliffs or mountainous regions as this flower will only bloom near this type of terrain.
Once you have located and harvested the flower, it will take anywhere between two to three real-world days to respawn in the farmed area. Additionally, you can visit two local vendors to buy Violetgrass every three days for 1,000 Mora each.
You can buy Violetgrass from Herbalist Gui at Bubu Pharmacy in Liyue Harbor and Verr Goldet, owner of the Wangshu Inn at Dihua Marsh if you can’t find any in the wild.
You can use the official Teyvat Interactive Map to find the exact locations of Violetgrass across the Liyue region. There are plenty of locations where you can find this fragrant flower; however, only a select few are known for their high concentration of Violetgrass.
The first location with the highest concentration of Violetgrass is in the Dunyun Ruins. If you’re lucky, you can find up to 15 Violetgrass plus an additional 13 more Violetgrass at Lingju Pass.
The next location that spawns a high concentration of Violetgrass is Qingyun Peak. Here you can farm up to 13 Violetgrass in a single run by using the suspended bridges that connect the cliffs.
Another good location for farming Violetgrass is situated at Wuwang Hill. You will need to travel northeast from Wuwang Hill’s southernmost waypoint; there are 11 Violetgrass that can be farmed with four more if you head west from this location. Additionally, you can head over to Qingce Village to find more Violetgrass to farm.
If you have Qiqi or Yanfei in your party, they can make the search for Violetgrass much easier as these flowers will appear on the minimap. As they will be marked, it will come in handy when navigating your way around Liyue looking for Violetgrass.
How to use Violetgrass in Genshin Impact?
There are a few uses of Violetgrass known in Genshin Impact. These flowers can be used in cooking three recipes, namely Stone Harbor Delicacies, Black-Back Perch Stew and Wanmin Restaurant’s Boiled Fish.
It is also widely known that both Qiqi and Xinyan make use of Violetgrass for their respective character ascensions. The latter was recently available during Eula’s Character Event Wish banner, Born of Ocean Swell, for those lucky enough to use their Wishes.
We have covered everything there is to know about Violetgrass, from their in-game lore to the best farming locations and uses for your next visit to Liyue. Good luck, Travelers!
