A few weeks have passed since the release of version 1.2 of Genshin Impact, one of the biggest the game has ever had as it added a new explorable area known as Dragonspine Mountain, new rewards, and a new character: the Chalk Prince, Albedo.
Today, and as previously announced, miHoYo released through a live broadcast on YouTube, all the details of the 1.3 update, which will bring with it the arrival of Guardian Yaksha, Xiao, in a special event based on the Chinese New Year.

To begin the broadcast, Barbara, the Deaconess of the Church of Favonius, welcomed the players with an interaction already teased a few hours ago, followed by the introduction of the voice actors of the Traveler, Paimon and Ganyu.
Genshin Impact’s Update 1.3 will be available worldwide from February 3, which will be called All That Glitters.
Its main event, known as the Lantern Rite, will be an annual in-game event, in which everyone comes together to celebrate a new cycle, and throw lanterns into the sky filled with all the wishes and hopes of the people of Yevyat.
Genshin Impact v1.3: Guardian Yaksha, Xiao
The featured character in this update will be Xiao, the Guardian Yaksha also known as the Conqueror of Demons.
Xiao will be the first Anemo element character with a polearm as his primary weapon, and will have his arrival in the game on the same day as the update via his own banner, Invitation to Mundane Life.
Additionally, a new Story Mission about Xiao and the Lantern Rite will be available to all players starting at Adventure Rank 23, and will be playable without the need for a Story Key for the duration of the Lantern Rite.

Besides Xiao, another character will be a central figure in the new event: Keqing, the Yuheng of Liyue Qixing. She is known for being the coordinator of the Lantern Rite event.
Keqing will have her own special banner, called the Dance of Lanterns, available starting 17th February.

Players will be able to earn up to ten Intertwined Fates, by login into the game for seven days from February 11 to 26.
Additionally, through the Stand By Me event, players will be able to obtain for free any of the six four-star characters from the Liyue region: Ningguang, Beidou, Xiangling, Xingqiu, Chongyun and Xinyan, from February 18 to March 7.
More character and talent ascension materials will be available within the event store during the Lantern Rite, plus players will be able to earn up to more than 1,600 Protogems by participating in various event quests.

After completing Xiao's special quest, players will be able to access more of the Lantern Rite options, including the Xiao Market.
This special store will have different rewards available, which will increase as the event progresses. For this, players must complete missions around and thus increase the festive level of the Lantern Rite.
This new event will bring with it a new game mode: Theater Mechanicus. In this, Travelers must protect a ley tree line using Mechanici, elemental artifacts that will attack all enemies around.
Upon completing a challenge in this game mode, you will be awarded Talismans of Peace, which will be the currency required to purchase within the Xiao Market.
Genshin Impact v1.3: Five Flushes of Fortune

Along with the Lantern Rite, a new daily mini-event will arrive in the 1.3 update: the Five Flushes of Fortune, which will require players to take pictures of particular things using the Kurious Kamara.
This will be given to you by Ji Tong in the event area, who will ask you to take pictures of objects of five colours. Completing all the colour sets ordered by Ji Tong will grant you a Fortune Trove, containing 60 primogems and random materials.
This event will be repeatable up to eight times, so players will have a chance to obtain hundreds of primogems, and dozens of materials and Mora.

Despite all the good things about the festival, there is also bad news, as new enemies will make their appearance in the middle of the event, these being the Geovishap and the Primo Geovishap, two imposing beasts of the Geo element.

Along with this, new features will come to the game, which will allow you to learn more about these and other enemies within it, through an interface known as Living Beings. It will look very similar to a Pokédex.
Finally, there will be changes in the profile section, where it will allow you to show outstanding achievements of your Traveler, characters that you have obtained, and the most expected by many, a portable tool to transmute materials into weapons and artifacts.
