The Genshin Impact 3.1 update is a few days, and HoYoverse is preparing for the forthcoming content with the launch of the latest web event. This event features one of the update's latest characters, Cyno, which Travelers will need to assist him in his duties.

The event will take place in the update's new area, the Sumeru desert, where they'll need to prepare provisions for the harsh weather conditions. This guide provides Travelers details for the new Genshin Impact web event, including start and end dates, how to play, and rewards.

The latest Genshin Impact web event, Trial of the Scorching Sands, sees Travelers joining the General Mahamatra, Cyno, on his next adventure into the desert. This web event began on 23rd September 2022 at 12 pm (UTC +8) and has a limited run concluding on 28th September 2022 at 11:59 pm (UTC +8).

In addition, they must hold an Adventure Rank of 10 and higher to participate in the web event and have the best organizational skills. Lastly, they will have to link their HoYoverse account for their event's rewards to be sent directly to their in-game Mail.

Genshin Impact Trial of the Scorching Sands Web Event – Gameplay Details

This web event tasks the Traveler with assisting Cyno in pursuit of a researcher who had broken the Akademiya's rules. Unfortunately, they ran out into the desert and, as such, needed to prepare for the voyage across the sandy dunes and combat the extreme heat.

As such, they'll need to prepare their backpack for the journey across the desert by packing only the essential items listed in the prompts and clicking on the items required. They can also view what's in Cyno's backpack or remove items that don't belong by selecting the backpack icon.

Once fully packed, they'll have the option to increase the backpack's space, which can be done by either sharing the event, viewing the content in the 3.1 update, or following Genshin Impact on Twitter. This would increase the space by three times; if they had done all three tasks, they could bring additional items.

With the essentials now packed in the backpack, they can select the "head towards the desert" icon to begin their travels. Doing so will prevent them from changing the backpack's contents, so be sure to pack what they need.

The event concludes with Cyno successfully apprehending the researcher and completing the web event. Cyno will thank them by handing them rewards which they claim in-game shortly.

With Cyno capturing the researcher who had failed to adhere to the Akademiya's rules, he'll thank the Traveler with some valuable rewards. These will be sent to their in-game Mail shortly after completing the web event, so do claim them in time, preferably within 30 days.

These are the rewards you can get from the event:

• Primogems x40
• Vajrada Amethyst Fragment x3
• Mora x20,000
• Mystic Enhancement Ore x2

They can also obtain the web event's wallpaper which can be acquired by sharing the event online. Lastly, if they wish to re-experience the event, there's an option to replay it; however, they won't receive rewards when relaying it.

The Genshin Impact 3.1 update, "King Deshret and the Three Magi," will release for PlayStation consoles, mobile devices, and PC via the Epic Games Store on 28th September 2022.
