Genshin Impact Golden Wolflord location and how to beat

Travellers have been fighting the Rifthound enemy type for quite a while now in the Inazuma region. With the Genshin Impact 2.3 update, bringing in new events, weapons, characters, enemies and more, the "Nameless King of the Rift", also known as the Golden Wolflord world boss has appeared, wreaking havoc on unprepared Travellers.

Golden Wolflord location and lore

The Golden Wolflord is essentially the leader of the Rifthound, as its nickname "Nameless King of the Rift" might suggest.

The Genshin Impact in-game lore description reads: "Hailing from a dark world, this ruler of the black wolves has the power to call upon its followers, its hidden claws, to dissolve space itself and forge a rift through which it may enter. The Wolflord has no name, for it was but one of 'Gold's unintentional creations, and that is precisely why it is obsessed with invading worlds that do not belong to it and making a name for itself.

"That said, the wolf pack is far from unintelligent. After suffering a defeat in its previous invasion, a deserted island where no humans or protectors dwell has been selected for them to prepare for their lord's descent."

As you can see from the image below, the Golden Wolflord's exact location is south of Mt. Kanna on the Tsurumi Island in the Inazuma region.

There’s a Waypoint Teleporter right next to the arena where you can fight this new Genshin Impact world boss, so getting there via fast travel is definitely recommended.

How to defeat the Golden Wolflord

Knowing the location of the Golden Wolflord and getting to the arena is easy, but defeating will be a challenge for many players.

To defeat the Golden Wolflord with relative ease, you should bring Ningguang along for the fight. This is due to range attacks being quite powerful against the world boss since it moves around a lot.

Avoiding its attacks are key, as the boss adds the Corrosion status effect if you get hit. We recommend bringing either Barbara along or stocking up on a lot of HP recovery consumables.

The biggest stumbling block against the Golden Wolflord, however, is its shield. At 50% HP, the boss will cast a shield protecting it from harm. To break the shield, players must kill the three Rifthound Skulls which spawn at outlaying points in the arena.

The trick is to use Geo damage on these Rifthound Skulls to break the shield much, much faster. After all three wolf heads have been taken care of, continue to beat down on the boss until the Golden Wolflord is no more, avoiding its deadly attacks.

Corrosion status effect if you get hit by any of its attacks. So bring a lot of HP recovery food or your Barbara to the fight.

As a bonus tip, when the Golden Wolflord casts Empowerment, it increases its attack damage, but decrease its Geo resistance, so you know what to do --- blast it with Geo damage!
