The Genshin Impact 2.5 live stream finally introduced the Shrine Maiden, Yae Miko, as a playable character for the upcoming update called "When the Sakura Blooms". Japanese voice actor, Ayane Sakura, will be handling Yae Miko's Japanese vocal performance in Genshin Impact.

For those who aren't familiar with Ayane, the Japanese voice actress is widely known in Japan for her stellar work in high-profile anime and video game projects.

Who is Yae Miko in Genshin Impact?

Also known as Guuji Yae, Miko is the Shrine Maiden of the Grand Narukami Shrine on Narukami Island and the owner and editor-in-chief at Yae Publishing House in Inazuma City.

According to her character description, Yae Miko "is a descendant of Kitsune lineage, Eternity's servant", a close friend of Morax and Baal and the acquaintance of Ganyu.

She has been rumoured to be joining Genshin Impact as a playable character after being introduced in the 2.0 update. Since then, she has been mentioned by the Raiden Shogun, Sayu, Gorou and Arataki Itto.

Once again, developer miHoYo has done an impressive job of enlisting talented voice actors that highlights the game's massive character roster. As a result, Yae Miko will be bringing her mysterious demeanour and charm to Genshin Impact in the 2.5 update launching on 16th February 2022.
