Genshin Impact 2.8 Phase I Events - Free Fischl Outfit, Primogems, More

Summertime has arrived to Teyvat as our favorite characters are heading to the seaside in the upcoming Genshin Impact 2.8 update. The Summer Fantasia update introduces us to a new Anemo character, new outfits, more secrets to discover, and plenty of sunshine.

Developer HoYoverse provided new information on the events we can look forward to participating in for the first half of the update. We detail all the Phase I events, eligibility, and rewards earned in the Genshin Impact 2.8 update. 

Genshin Impact 2.8 Phase I Events, Rewards

Genshin Impact's 2.8 Special Program livestream detailed several new events, which developer HoYoverse described in the latest blog post. Excluding the Epitome Invocation and Character Event Wish banners, the recent events are Summertime Odyssey, Resonating Visions, and Hidden Strife.

Additionally, there is a new Hangout Event with the new character, Shikanoin Heizou, for Travelers to experience. Lastly, Kaedehara Kazuha will receive yet another Story Quest, "Acer Palmatum Chapter," which you'll need Story Keys to unlock.

With that being said, Travelers, let's take a look at the new events arriving with the 2.8 update:

Summertime Odyssey

In the headlining event for the 2.8 update, Summertime Odyssey, you'll be heading out to an island by Fischl, which may or may not have lingering secrets worth discovering. As these secrets are connected to the characters in the trailer, like Xinyan and Kazuha, specific tasks need to be completed to earn specific rewards.

The Surfpiercer and Phantom Realms challenges will require an event-exclusive item, Iridescent Flotsam, to be collected, which can be exchanged when visiting the Event Shop. Accumulate enough Iridescent Flotsam to invite the Electro-wielder Fischl to your party, with other rewards available for exchange, including Crown of Insight, Character Level-Up Materials, and Talent Level-Up Materials.

As such, before you can begin this summertime event, you need to meet specific in-game requirements, which are as follows:

• Must have an Adventure Rank of 32 and higher
• Have completed the Archon Quest Chapter II: Prologue "Autumn Winds, Scarlet Leaves"
• Have completed Mona's Story Quest "Astrolabos Chapter: Act I - Beyond This World's Stars"

Resonating Visions

The Summertime Odyssey won't be the only event involving Fischl, as the Resonating Visions event will see the Electro wielder dazzling around the Golden Apple Archipelago. Travelers must collect an event-exclusive item, Phantasmal Conches, around the island, which possesses unique properties when interacting with them.

Completing the event will reward you with Primogems, Mystic Enhancement Ore, Character EXP Materials, Mora, and Talent Level-Up Materials. Additionally, collect enough Phantasmal Conches to acquire a new outfit for Fischl, Ein Immernachtstraum," for free.

You will be able to get this outfit once the update concludes via the Character Outfit Shop for 1,680 Genesis Crystals. Lastly, you need to have an Adventure Rank of 32 and higher plus unlock the Golden Apple Archipelago during the Summertime Odyssey event.

Hidden Strife

Speaking of new outfits, the Pyro wielder Diluc will also gain a new outfit, Red Dead of Night, during the Hidden Strife event. This event will provide details into Diluc's new outfit during a returning visit to the Dawn Winery, where the Traveler and Paimon learn of a new threat from their past at the winery.

The outfit has unique effects and idle animations when equipped, and for Diluc mains, you may need to figure out where he stores his Vision. Alongside the outfit, you can also earn Primogems, Mystic Enhancement Ore, Character EXP Materials, Mora, and Weapon Ascension Materials during the event.

To play through Hidden Strife, you need to have reached these prerequisites before the start of the event:

• Must have Adventure Rank 25 and higher
• Have completed the Archon Quest "Prologue: Act III - Song of the Dragon and Freedom"
• Have completed Diluc's Story Quest "Noctua Chapter: Act l - Darknight Hero's Alibi"

Hangout Events: Series VII - Trap' Em by Storm

The 2.8 update will introduce a new character, Tenryou detective Shikanoin Heizou and his arrival will allow Travelers to learn more about him in his first Hangout Event. Having developed quite the reputation around Inazuma and being renowned for his successes in solving crime in the region, the Traveler can join Heizou for the day and experience what it takes to be a detective.

Travelers who reach the required Adventure Rank and complete the prerequisite quests will be able to use Story Keys to unlock the Hangout Event for Shikanoin Heizou.

To play Heizou's Hangout Event series, there are a few prerequisites that need to be achieved:

• Must have Adventure Rank 40 and higher
• Have completed the Archon Quest "Chapter II: Act III - Omnipresence Over Mortals"
• Have completed Raiden Shogun's Story Quest: "Imperatrix Umbrosa Chapter: Act II - Transient Dreams"
• Have completed Arataki Itto's Story Quest "Taurus Iracundus Chapter: Act I - "Rise Up, Golden Soul"

"Acer Palmatum Chapter" Story Quest

Kaedehara Kazuha is returning in the next installment of his Story Quest, "Acer Palmatum Chapter," which the Special program livestream didn't reveal much about the Story Quest. Travelers know that it involves Kazuha's smithing a weapon, a dual, and a mysterious sword, but you will have to wait until the release of the 2.8 update to learn more.

The requirements to participate in Kazuha's Story Quest include:

• Adventure Rank 40 and higher
• Have completed the Archon Quest "Chapter II: Act III - Omnipresence Over Mortals"
• Have completed Raiden Shogun's Story Quest: "Imperatrix Umbrosa Chapter: Act I - Reflections of Mortality"

There are plenty more events that are arriving in Phase II of the 2.8 update that will be announced closer to its release. The 2.8 update will launch on 12th July 2022 for mobile devices and PC.
