The Autumn/Storm Season for the popular open-world racing game, Forza Horizon 5, has arrived, and there is a plethora of new content to explore. In addition, this season sees two seasonal rewards, Forzathon Daily and Weekly Challenges, and the Extreme E Seasonal Championship continues.
A new limited-time Treasure Hunt event challenge, Sustainable Energy, is currently available for drivers to race across the Horizon Festival to locate a treasure chest. This guide will detail how to complete the limited-time event challenge and claim its rewards in Forza Horizon 5.
Forza Horizon 5 - How To Play Sustainable Energy Treasure Hunt
Akin to last season’s Tropical Fruits Treasure Hunt, you can access the Sustainable Energy Treasure Hunt event challenge from the Festival Playlist menu. You’ll receive your first clue to solving, “In Guanajuato, EV charging points are every 15 seconds, but 100 are maintained”, instructing you to have an electric vehicle (EV) to solve the first part of the clue.
If you don’t have an EV in your garage, you can purchase one from the Autoshow or head to the Auction to bid for one. There are several EVs and hybrid cars in Forza Horizon 5, like the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400, featured as the event image; however, we suggest spending 700,000 Credits for the 2022 Extreme E #99 Chip Ganassi Racing GMC Hummer.

The second part of the clue requires you to race in your EV somewhere in Guanajuato at 100MPH and maintain it for 15 seconds, which, when using the area’s main road, can help you solve the clue. Completing this will unlock the next treasure hunt clue, “Find the treasure,” which you can bring up the map as it will highlight the location in orange, located somewhere in Guanajuato.
Going to the event on the Festival Playlist, you can view the image supplied, which should give you another clue as to what to look for in locating the chest. Go east of Guanajuato, find an alley nearby fruit crates, and head along the route to find the chest.
Smashing into the chest will complete the Sustainable Energy Treasure Hunt in Forza Horizon 5. Doing so will net some rewards contributing to your seasonal progress in-game.
Forza Horizon 5 Sustainable Energy Treasure Hunt – Rewards
After solving the clues and successfully locating the treasure chest, driving into the chest can earn you rewards upon completion. This Treasure Hunt challenge will reward you with 100 Forzathon Points and three Playlist Points.
Additionally, if you drove an Extreme E vehicle to complete this challenge, you can achieve a few Daily Challenges, which award you a Playlist Point and 10 Forzathon Points. These challenges we’ve listed below include the following:
- Energize!: Visit Guanajuato to start the Extreme E Energy Week
- Driving Force: Drive at least 10 miles with an Extreme E vehicle
- EV-lution: Earn a 100,000 Skill Score with an Extreme E vehicle
