It's been over three years since Playground Games' open-world racing game Forza Horizon 5 was released for Xbox consoles, PC, and Xbox Game Pass. Post-launch, the game's developer has continued supporting the game through multiple patch updates, seasonal content releases, new vehicles, and gameplay features, which continued to keep players enjoying the party at the Horizon Festival.
And that party is about to get bigger, brighter, and much louder as Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios will bring Forza Horizon 5 to PlayStation 5 consoles this year. No release date has been confirmed yet, but the developer has detailed what PS5 players can look forward to upon its release.
Playground Games and its publisher, Xbox Game Studios, are bringing the party to PS5 consoles this Spring as the Horizon Festival is welcoming PlayStation players to Forza Horizon 5. The open-world racing game is available to add to their Wishlist and will include all previously released content currently available to Xbox and PC players, including over 40 thematic game updates, the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventures DLCs, and plenty more.
This also includes over 900 vehicles from more than 70 car manufacturers from around the world that were added to the game through the Car Packs, the aforementioned DLCs, and were available in the base game at launch. The developer has also confirmed it cooked up a free content update, the Horizon Realms, available across all platforms, which gives players access to a curated playlist of "previously released Evolving Worlds" as selected by the Forza community.
Lastly, its PS5 release will feature cross-platform play (crossplay) capabilities as players across PC, PS5, and Xbox consoles can link up in a Convoy and enjoy the festivities, colorful sceneries, and beautiful roads of Mexico together. We'll update this page once Playground Games has confirmed Forza Horizon 5's PS5 release date and provide pre-order information as soon as they're readily available.
