New Leaks Point To Incoming Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Live Event

Fire up those matches. The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 live event could be kicking off later today, according to new leaks. Known Fortnite leaker @ShiinaBR posted a video to X or the datamined event, saying that Pandora's Box will "overload" and trigger the Season 3 Sandstorm. ShiinaBR's post came via Fortnite leaker @notkrae.

The video appears to show the statue on top of Mount Olympus covered in red lightning effects emerging from the sword, with the statue soon moving to point the sword directly into the sky. Dark clouds form around the summit before a beam focuses into the sky, causing a large explosion to occur elsewhere on the map that then travels off the coast of the island. It's this explosion that then forms into the rumored Season 3 sandstorm.

What Time Does The Chapter 5 Season 2 Live Event Happen?

According to ShiinaBR, this event will happen live and players will need to be in a match at the right time to be in with a chance of catching the sequence. This will reportedly happen at 2pm ET today, May 16, 2024. 

At the time of writing, Epic Games has yet to confirm the live event. However, should the leaks prove true and the live event is scheduled for today, expect to see more information posted to social channels ahead of the suspected 2pm ET start time.
