How To Get The Combat AR In Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

The Combat AR has returned in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 after being gone from the Battle Royale for a few months. And like most of the weapons in Fortnite, it's quick to learn how to find and loot the assault rifle for use in your own games.

In Chapter 3 Season 2, the Combat AR was added back to Fortnite along with the MK-Seven in another round of voting competitions. In the end, the player base chose the MK-Seven and the Combat assault rifle was vaulted for a second time. Now that the MK-Seven is gone in Season 3, there was a perfect opportunity to bring another assault rifle back to the game.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 - Where to find the Combat AR

Finding a Combat AR in your own Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 match is mostly down to luck. The weapon can be found as ground loot or within chests that are scattered around the island. Chests can be either normal or rare in nature, so make sure to check all containers where a weapon can appear.

As mentioned, ground loot is another possible method for finding the AR, but it can take some time. Not because the weapon is rare, but because there are so many weapons in the Battle Royale loot pool right now. There are three assault rifles that are automatic and utilize third-person in the loot pool alone.

Within a few games played, the chances of finding one of these are high, so sticking to loot around the island is really your best bet. Checking loot drops and vending machines designated for rifles can also lead to the AR you want, but that is also up to chance.

One final method would be to speak to NPCs around the island. Most of them sell weapons, and now that the Combat AR is unvaulted, one or two of them are bound to sell the AR.

Combat AR stats and damage in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3

When you are on the search for an AR, you can find one in nearly every rarity aside from exotic. It starts at Common and goes all the way to Legendary in rare circumstances or through the upgrade bench. Regardless of the rarity, the weapon will always have a high fire rate, decent accuracy, and some tough recoil.

Below, you will find the stats of the Legendary  Combat AR which can be used as a baseline for what to expect.

• DPS: 207
• Damage: 23
• Fire Rate: 9
• Ammo Capacity: 35
• Reload Time: 2.8 seconds

The Common version of the weapon has 19 damage per shot compared to the 23 on the Legendary. Aside from the damage, nearly everything else remains the same aside from about half a second removed from the overall reload speed. You'll have to try the weapon out for yourself and see how much damage you can deal.
