Fortnitemares 2022 - Start Date & What To Expect

October is here, and Halloween is at the forefront of everyone's minds. Fortnitemares is the yearly Halloween Fortnite event and is slated to return this year, bigger and better than ever before. Not much is known about the event so far, but we can hazard educated guesses based on the previous Fortnitemares events. 

Fortnite, like most ongoing and regularly updated games nowadays, has tons of seasonal events, from Christmas parties to Summer throwdowns. However, there is something about Epic Games' Fortnitemares event that builds tons of hype and excitement. 

Whether it be new skins based on popular monsters or each location being decorated with spooky scenery, this year's Fortnitemares event is shaping up to be the best yet. 

Fortnitemares 2022 Start Date

Fortnitemares has been confirmed to be returning on October 18. The official Fortnite Twitter account posted an update on October 1 showing a brief animation with a wolf/fox-like figure in the background.

This teaser already has fans speculating, as the jeweled creature is shown from various angles with piercing red eyes, but little to no detail is given as to the identity of this monster. 

There is no end date yet specified, but last year's Fortnitemares event ran from October 5 - November 2, so we can likely expect this year's event to run for a similar amount of time. This would put the approximate end date of Fortnitemares 2022 to November 18.

Fortnitemares 2022 Leaks

Epic Games are keeping their cards close to their chest with Fortnitemares 2022. However, a popular leaker names Hypex has shared a few tidbits of information. Firstly, he explains that there will be a Halloween-themed boss fight. It will "summon creatures" and drop "an unreleased/unknown Mythic weapon & a Pumpking Luncher (+2 Rocket ammo)." It will also drop "2 Ammo Stacks, 2 Consumable Stacks, and 6 Fireflies."

This same leaker then went on to describe a new ammo type that will be coming to the game with the Fortnitemares event. Phantom Ammo still has no effect preview, but Hypex presumes it will be coming in October. 

Fortnitemares 2022 - What To Expect

Aside from the new additions, fans can still expect to see a bunch of skins, icons, and spooky additions to the map.
