Fortnite 19.40 update will be releasing today on 1st March and will be adding a new Spider-Man outfit, weekly challenges, wild weed and more along with a bunch of bug fixes including the one where player outfits will glow with a bright blue ‘hologram’ effect in the lobby.
Before the release of each update, Epic takes the game servers down for maintenance to get the patch ready to be pushed out. The maintenance for Fortnite 19.40 update has begun and the matchmaking has been disabled. Here's how long it will take for the servers to be back online.
When will Fortnite servers be back online?
The players have been kicked out about 30 minutes prior to the 04:00 am ET and while there is no official announcement regarding the maintenance duration, it is expected to last for about two hours.

You will not be able to launch the game before the downtime is over and the update gets available.
The size of the update is expected to be around 2 GB however we still have to wait for the patch to get released to get the exact size.
