Leaks are rather frequent in entertainment industries, but none quite as much as in the video game industry. With release dates, full games, DLC content, and more leaking, it's no wonder that a Forspoken demo has leaked online. What is surprising, however, is the fact it was leaked through official channels.
The official Japanese PlayStation account tweeted out an image that read 'Forspoken Demo Announcement Trailer'. What's curious about this is the fact that there's a planned Forspoken stream currently penciled in for this Friday, December 9th at 10 AM PT/ 6 PM GMT. It's likely then that after this event, the demo will go live, giving players their first chance to get hands-on with the title.
This also makes it rather unlikely that the game shows up at The Game Awards 2022, with Square Enix seemingly opting to give the game its own stage for the world to watch it upon.
Forspoken is a game that has been through several delays and is a debut project for Luminous Productions. It was supposed to release on May 24th, 2022, but was delayed until October 11th, 2022. This was then delayed even further until January 24th, 2023, so that the game could be refined further. Despite this, we've really not seen that much of the game outside of your standard showcases, so the possibility of an upcoming demo will be a welcome sight to many hoping to figure out if this type of game is for them.
