The First Descendant Valby Build: Overview, Role, Abilities

The First Descendant is a free-to-play looter-shooter where you play as super-human soldiers known as Descendants. Each Descendant has a unique personality and possesses different elemental abilities. In this guide, we focus on Valby, the Water Dancer. 

Valby is an agile and endearing Descendant who possesses water elemental abilities. She can become liquefied and glide across the battlefield, passing through enemies and leaving a trail of water that deals damage over time. While her bubbly personality suggests otherwise, Valby is incredibly deadly on the battlefield. With that said, here's everything you need to know about Valby in the First Descendant, including her background, active abilities, passive abilities, and more. 

Valby's Backstory in The First Descendant

When she was young, Valby accidentally fell into a river and almost drowned. It's how she got her water elemental abilities. However, in the process, her body became liquified. She would have evaporated completely if not for Magisters' help, who built a special suit for her.

While the incident left her dependent on her suit, it also gave her these incredible powers, which is why she became a Descendant. 

Valby's Skills in The First Descendant

Valby is an AOE damage dealer. She can harness water to create bubble projectiles to deal massive damage. She can also conjure a water bomb launcher that pulls in enemies to deal continuous damage. 

Her active skills include: 

• Plop Plop: Creates a large puddle where she is standing, then dives in. Valby then pops out at a selected location in the large puddle. Enemies in the large puddle take continuous damage and are inflicted with Laundry.
• Laundry: Valby becomes Liquefied. While Liquefied, she cannot take her feet off of the ground or use skills, but she can move through enemies and her Movement Speed and DEF increase. When moving while Liquefied, she creates a path of water that deals continuous damage to enemies and inflicts Laundry.
• Laundry Bomb: Changes the equipped weapon to the Laundry Bomb Launcher. When the Launcher is fired, a Laundry Bomb is created, pulling in enemies inflicted with Laundry and dealing continuous damage.

Her passive skills include: 

• Water Intake: When using skills while standing on water, she consumes less Mana.
• Bubble Bullet: Bounces a Bubble Bullet forward to create a small puddle where the Bubble Bullet impacts and where she stands. Enemies in the small puddle take continuous damage and are inflicted with Laundry.

Yes, Valby is playable in the First Descendant open beta. If you didn't know, the beta features 13 playable Descendants, each with unique skills and abilities.
