The First Descendant is the next big looter-shooter in the veins of Warframe and Destiny 2 that you may want to keep your eyes out for. Much like Warframe, it features multiple playable characters, each with unique active and passive abilities.
It's a free-to-play title from Nexon Studios and is being built on Unreal Engine 5. Like other games in the genre, expect build-crafting to be a huge part of the game, especially as you finish the story missions and proceed toward the endgame.
While Nexon has revealed its plan to add new story missions, bosses, weapons, and characters in the future, it has been awfully quiet in terms of PvP stuff. So what's exactly going on here? Will there be a PvP mode in The First Descendant?
Will There Be PvP In The First Descendant? - Answered
No, there won't be any PvP mode in The First Descendant. Well, at least not at launch. Game director Minseok Joo recently confirmed the news via a Dev Talk video. Of course, since it's a live-service game, things could change in the future depending on general player feedback.
However, history suggests that most loot-based games don't offer solid PvP modes and end up having minimal player interaction. Games like Destiny 2, Division 2, Diablo 4, and Warframe are solid loot-based PvE games with underwhelming PvP modes. As such, maybe it's best if Nexon Games focuses its resources on honing the PvE side of its title instead of PvP.
Regardless, we will update this article if a PvP mode were to come to the First Descendant. So, don't forget to take a peek every now and then.
